Popular gaming content creators have been known to share their latest tricks on TikTok, and that's no different with this Stardew Valley player that has discovered a way to make the geode crusher much more useful. Stardew Valley is a very mechanically rich game with a lot of moving parts to it, but some players have wondered about the true purpose of the geode crusher.

Mining is one of the common Stardew Valley professions due to how lucrative it can be, and one of the materials that players may encounter is coal. Among all the uses of Coal in Stardew Valley are as an ingredient in a plethora of crafting recipes, through tailoring a shirt, or as a quest item, but it can also be put into geode crushers. Because the geode crusher doesn't usually yield much by destroying coal, one Stardew Valley player has discovered a way to make it more fruitful.

TikTok user Salmence has added to their library of Stardew Valley clips with a tip video in which they show off an incredible use for the geode crusher that may inspire some fans to give the item another chance. The Stardew Valley geode crusher machine uses one coal for each geode that it crushes which is normally a drawback for most players, but Salmence has found that pairing the machine with the Blacksmith Clint's ability to smash the omni geode maximizes its potential. Once a prismatic shard or similarly useful material is yielded by Clint, a Stardew Valley player can then open the same type of geode in the crusher to receive the same thing they got from Clint.

With the video highlighting Salmence getting two prismatic shards, a player must break 15 geodes with the help of Stardew Valley's Clint before the action will result in the rarer item. Beyond the prismatic shard, geodes can also become one of 41 potential materials including calcite, fire opal, granite, and tigerseye. Because all of these items have their own purpose in Stardew Valley, players may wish to use the geode crusher after getting any of the potential results from Clint in order to essentially duplicate it.

Given the value of the geode crusher highlighted by Salmence's TikTok video, more players may consider using the machine when they may not have in the past. As the geode crusher will still require coal to function, a fan may wish to have a stash of the ingredient or have a successful Stardew Valley farm for the fuel source.

Stardew Valley is available now for Mobile, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
