The best part of jumping into Stardew Valley is that players can do whatever they please without any major restrictions. However, the game does provide a list of tasks that can be done to help them advance through the game, such as socializing with the town or growing specific crops.

These are known as quests, and they come in all forms. No matter how a task is presented to the player, completion of the task will result in a nice reward that could have a lasting effect fiscally, socially or both. One of the earliest tasks players are given in Stardew Valley is "Robin's Lost Axe."

How To Get The "Robin's Lost Axe" Quest

Robin will be introduced to the player from the very beginning, meeting the main character as they get off the bus and leading them to their grandfather's old farm. It will be here that players learn that Robin can help provide house upgrades for the future, so it would be a good idea to have a good relationship with her.

Regardless of how frequently the player strikes up a conversation with her, Robin will seek the player's help by the 11th day of Spring (which is the 11th official day of the game since the playthrough starts in Spring). Players will receive a letter in the mail from her that reads: "MISSING: I lost my favorite Axe! If you find it, please return ASAP. I'm having a tough time without it. There's 250 gold in it for whoever finds the thing."

Players can then select the "Accept Quest" button on the bottom, which will be officially added to the journal.

Where To Find The Axe

Players do not need to jump at this quest immediately, but it would be a good idea since it isn't too difficult to figure out. To locate the axe, players should head directly south from their farm. From here, they should keep heading south until they hit a body of water where they will need to cross a bridge to an island with a tree on it and then over another bridge to the other side of the area.

Continuing to head south will land the player in Cindersap Forest where players will eventually hit the entrance to the sewers. It is at this point that players should walk to the right until they hit a wall then just follow the edge of the cliff side. It is shortly after players start doing this that they will discover Robin's Axe laying there. The game will then prompt the player to bring it back to her.

Once Robin is found, highlight the axe on the hotbar so it is being held. Talk to Robin like this, and she will exclaim: "Hey, you found my axe! What a relief... I almost chopped my toe off with the other one I was using. Thank you!" Players will be rewarded the 250 gold in addition to an extra heart on Robin's relationship bar.

Stardew Valley is available on Windows, Mac, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
