Ginger Island is a tropical location that players who play a lot of Stardew Valley will eventually be given access to after helping Willy with fixing the boat in his shop. This island has plenty of new crops to discover and a brand-new assortment of materials to gather.

In addition, there are some new people to meet. One of these people is Birdie, an older woman who lives on the beaches in a small hut. While players can't build a friendship with her, she does provide a unique quest that will take players on a journey of deliveries across Stardew Valley.

Beginning The Pirate's Wife Quest

As pointed out, players will need access to Ginger Island to start the Pirate's Wife quest. To do so, players will need to have either repaired the Community Center or finished the community development projects that JojaMart is sponsoring. Willy will invite players to his shop where they will be invited to the backroom.

Here, there will be a boat in need of repair. If players bring 500 hardwood, five battery packs, and five iridium bars, they can fully repair the boat and use it to travel to Ginger Island. Keep in mind that there is a 1,000 gold fee for each time the boat heads to the island.

Once arrived, players will have to go to the left, but a bird is guarding the area with a request. It will be necessary to find 10 golden walnuts, which can be found in specific locations around the island. Once these walnuts are delivered to the parrot, players can go to the left. Keep heading left and players will see Birdie at a hut on a beach.

Completing The Pirate's Wife Quest

When talking with Birdie initially, she will talk about how her husband was lost to the sea and his ship being completely destroyed. She has been trying to find pieces of the ship and important mementos to help her with the grief, but she needs help finding other missing pieces.

She will hand the player the War Memento, which will be the start of a series of trades where players will need to give items they receive to other people receive more items that will be traded. Starting with the War Memento, players will need to find Kent and give him the object. In return, he will give players Gourmet Tomato Salt.

This should give players a clue that they should give this to a character that makes food. Go to Gus in The Stardrop Saloon and hand him the Gourmet Tomato Salt to receive the Stardew Valley Rose in return. Head to Calico Desert and meet with Sandy, who will accept the rose and will give the Advanced TV Remote.

The person who loves TV more than anyone in the game is George, who will likely be found in his home. Giving him the remote will lead to him giving an Arctic Shard. This shard can then be given to the Wizard who will provide the Wiggling Worm. Finally, head to Willy who will give the player a Pirate's Locket in exchange for the worm.

It is at this point that players can return to Ginger Island as the locket will be exactly the gift that Birdie will want to see. Giving her the locket will trigger a cutscene and will be followed by her rewarding the player with the recipe for Fairy Dust and five additional golden walnuts.

Stardew Valley is available on Windows, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
