Where to Find Opal in Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley - Frozen Geode

You can find Opal in The Mines, specifically starting from level 41. At this stage, there’s a possibility of encountering Frozen Geodes, which are ice-shaped rocks housing valuable stones. Once acquired, take these formations to Clint, the Blacksmith, and request him to break them open. Additionally, Opal can be found in Omni Geodes, which are abundant in both The Mines and waterways.

In the initial levels of The Mines, you might find Frozen Geode Nodes. Use your pickaxe to break these items to obtain Frozen Geodes, which can be further processed to extract Opal.

How to Farm Opal in Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley Crystalariums

The ideal way to farm Opal is using the Crystalarium. Place a sedimentary stone in this device, and you’ll receive an extra one in approximately three hours and eleven minutes. Another option is gathering Frozen Geodes, available in The Mines (Floors 41-79). Alternatively, you can create a fishing pond with nine Ice Pips to increase the chances of Frozen Geodes spawning on the farm.

If you prefer getting Opal through breaking Omni Geodes, you should prioritize mining, panning, fishing, and killing Carbon Ghosts. You should also visit Krobus and Oasis frequently because they sell these items.

The RNG involved in Omni Geode drops is much more extensive than the Frozen Geodes’. Therefore, if you’re looking for a guaranteed way of getting Opal, concentrate on collecting the latter.
