Stardew Valley 1.6 added four new seasonal seeds:

  • Carrot Seeds: “Plant in the spring. Takes three days to grow.”
  • Summer Squash Seeds: “Plant in the summer. Takes six days to grow and continues to produce after the first harvest.”
  • Broccoli Seeds: “Plant in the fall. Takes eight days to mature and continues to produce after the first harvest.”
  • Powdermelon Seeds: “This special melon grows in the winter. Takes seven days to grow.”

How to Buy New Seeds

The only merchant who sells the new seeds in v1.6 is Mrs. Raccoon. Her shop becomes available once you complete the Giant Stump Quest and complete the first Mr. Raccoon Request. As a barter center, the Raccoon Shop offers Carrots, Broccoli, Powdermelon, and Summer Squash seeds in exchange for goods and trash.

Where to Find the Four New Seeds in Stardew Valley 1.6

In addition to purchasing them from the Raccoon Shop, the new seeds can also be obtained through one of the following methods: discovering them in Golden Fishing Chests during specific seasons, earning them from the Prize Machine, crafting them with the Seed Maker device, or looting them from Artifact Spots.

Carrot Seeds

You can find Carrot Seeds in Golden Fishing Treasure Chests and Artifact Spots from Spring 24 to Summer 20. Additionally, you might get them as a reward from the Prize Machine in Lewis’ house. Also, if you put one Carrot Seed in the Seed Maker machine, it will replicate it in a few in-game hours.

Summer Squash Seeds

From Spring 24 until Summer 20, you might find Summer Squash Seeds in Golden Fishing Treasure Chests and Artifact Spots. Powdermelon Seeds

Powdermelon is a rare winter crop. Its seeds can be found in The Mines’ crates, Volcano Dungeons barrels, and Artifact Spots from Fall 21 to Winter 20. Just like other v1.6 seeds, you can also get Powdermelon Seeds using a Seed Maker or by unlocking Prize Machine rewards.
