When players first move to Stardew Valley to tend to their grandfather’s farm, all they possess are a few coins and some hand-me-down tools. After spending ages toiling on the farm, conquering the mines, and even restoring the broken-down Community Center, players eventually settle down and build profitable income streams. Whether it’s selling high-quality wines or harvesting expensive honey, the journey from humble beginnings to a thriving homestead is a true example of rags-to-riches.
Once players have amassed a fortune in Stardew Valley, they can spend it on expensive things that make life on the farm easier, decorate and upgrade their farmhouse, or collect fancy statues. For players who dare to venture into the realm of extravagance, these luxurious items are the crème de la crème of Stardew Valley's marketplace.
9 Divorce
For players who regret their choices and are unhappy with their choice of spouse, divorce is an option in Stardew Valley. However, getting a divorce is super pricey. It comes with a hefty fee of 50,000 gold. To initiate the divorce, visit the Mayor's Manor and pay Lewis the fee. There's no need to discuss the matter with the player's spouse.
After the divorce, friendship levels with the ex-spouse will return to 0 hearts, and they will interact negatively with the player for the rest of the game. Players have the option to erase their ex-spouse's memory by offering an additional 30,000g to the Dark Shrine of Memory located at the Witch's Hut.
8 Alien Scarecrow
The Alien Scarecrow is the 3rd out of 8 Rarecrows that players can collect to spice up their farm. It functions just like regular scarecrows, but players can place hats on it. The Alien Scarecrow is available for purchase at the Casino for 10,000 Qi Coins.
Players can exchange their gold coins for Qi Coins at a rate of 10g per Qi Coin. This brings the total cost of the Alien Scarecrow to 100,000 gold. Alternatively, players can take a gamble and test their luck at CalicoJack to earn Qi Coins.
7 Cellar Upgrade
The third and final Farmhouse upgrade adds a huge cellar under the house, equipped with 33 casks. Players can increase this to 125 casks while leaving paths to conveniently access each of them. A Cask can be used to age Artisan Goods, like wine and cheese. The upgrade costs 100,000g and allows players to generate profitable revenue by selling aged wine.
6 Pam’s House
After restoring the Community Center and fully upgrading the Farmhouse, players can purchase two community upgrades from Robin the Carpenter. The first community upgrade allows players to build Pam, the Bus Driver, and her daughter Penny their own house. The total cost for Pam’s house is 500,000g.
5 Town Shortcuts
Once players have completed the upgrade to build Pam and Penny a house, they can ask Robin to create “Shortcuts” around Pelican Town to help them navigate the Valley more quickly. This second community upgrade costs 300,000g.
4 Obelisks
Warp Obelisks are expensive in-game objects that allow players to instantly teleport to various locations within the realm for free, making it easier to navigate and manage their farm. The following obelisks can be purchased from the Wizard at the Wizard’s Tower.
Name | Description |
---|---|
Island Obelisk | Costs 1,000,000g and directly transports players to Ginger Island. |
Desert Obelisk | Costs 1,000,000g and directly transports players to The Desert. |
Earth Obelisk | Costs 500,000g and directly transports players to The Mountains. |
Water Obelisk | Costs 500,000g and directly transports players to The Beach. |
3 Statue Of Endless Fortune
Owning a personal Statue of Endless Fortune is a flex for many players. This golden statue produces valuables such as Diamonds, Gold Bars, Iridium Bars, or Omni Geodes every day. Additionally, it produces a villager's most “loved” gift on their birthday. This luxurious statue can be purchased from the Casino for 1,000,000g.
2 Return Scepter
The Return Scepter can be purchased from Krobus in The Sewers for a whopping 2,000,000 gold. It’s the second most expensive item in the game, but is worth every penny. The Return Scepter is a non-consumable Warp Totem. It instantly teleports players back to their Farmhouse, regardless of how far away they are. This privilege allows players to stay out late every night and never collapse from exhaustion again, making the Return Scepter a game-changing investment.
1 Gold Clock
The single most expensive building available for purchase is the Gold Clock. For 10,000,000 gold, players can acquire the Gold Clock from the Wizard at the Wizard’s Tower. It prevents debris from appearing on the player’s farm and ensures that fences never decay, eliminating the need for repairs. The time displayed on the Gold Clock remains consistent with the in-game clock shown in the HUD.
Stardew Valley is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
