Story Quests in Stardew Valley are character-centric events. These events provide an insight into the NPC’s life, struggles, and aspirations – adding depth and an overall sense of connection to the game world. Story Quests are typically received in the Mail.

George is an NPC in Stardew Valley, who, at first, seems like a grumpy old man. He is confined to a wheelchair and often expresses frustration about his physical disability. Despite his tough exterior, players have the opportunity to get to know George better by interacting with him and participating in his character events. He is often found reminiscing about “the old days” and longing for his youth.

How to Complete the Knee Therapy Story Quest

On the 23rd of every season, George has an appointment at Harvey’s Clinic and is accompanied by his wife Evelyn. However, on the 25th of Summer, George sends a letter to the player, requesting a Hot Pepper to soothe his aching knee. This triggers the “Knee Therapy” Story quest.

Hot Peppers grow from Pepper Seeds during the Summer. These seeds take 5 days to mature and produce a Hot Pepper. Players can purchase Pepper Seeds at Pierre’s General Store for 40 g and JojaMart for 50 g. They are occasionally available at the Traveling Cart, and the price ranges from 100 – 1,000 g.

Each season in Stardew Valley is only 28 days long, meaning there are only 3 days of Summer left when George sends the letter. As Hot Peppers are strictly grown only in Summer and need 5 days to fully mature, this poses a problem for the players. If players don’t already have Hot Peppers growing on their farm, they can wait until next year to complete this quest. Fortunately, Story Quests do not have any time restrictions or expiration dates.

But players who are adamant about completing the quest as soon as it starts can use a Fertilizer, namely the “Speed-Gro”. Starting on the Spring 15, Year 1, players can purchase Speed-Gro from Pierre’s store for 100 g. It stimulates leaf production and speeds up crop growth by 10%. While this isn’t a guaranteed way to get Hot Peppers, it certainly increases the odds.

Once players have a nice harvest of Hot Peppers, they can take one up to George. He usually stays in his house all day. George lives at 1 River Road, which is just east of Pierre’s General Store.
