The greenhouse is one of the most useful structures on the protagonist's farm in Stardew Valley, and one player managed to give theirs a bit of an artistic flair. True to its genre, the main source of income in Stardew Valley revolves around crops, and much like in the real world, certain crops only grow during certain seasons. A surefire way to earn money in Year One is to plant and harvest as many cranberries in Fall as the player can afford. Cultivating coffee beans is also a worthy endeavor, but relies on a bit of luck to truly become profitable.
Though it's even more unlikely to unlock the greenhouse in Stardew Valley before the end of the first year, completing its associated bundle in the Community Center allows players to circumvent the crop limitations imposed by the game's seasons, including Winter. In addition to crops, the greenhouse also supports the placement of trees, effectively providing an orchard that never stops producing.
The greenhouse design made by Holt1610 was submitted to the subreddit for Stardew Valley where it garnered a positive response from the game's community. With twenty Preserves Jars lining the side edges of the greenhouse, it's a decently made system that allows Holt1610 to immediately convert fresh fruit into lucrative jam (even if wine has arguably been the Stardew Valley meta). The pattern in the middle of the structure resembles a Starfruit, one of the most valuable crops in the game, second only to the Sweet Gem Berry.
Using four carefully placed Iridium Sprinklers, this greenhouse design requires no intervention from the player, as the sprinklers automatically water the crops every morning. Due to the automated nature of the build, it allows the farmer to spend their time (and energy) interacting with other areas of the game, such as exploring Stardew Valley's Skull Cavern for more Iridium. In order to limit the effectiveness of the greenhouse, its building grid is only 10 rows long and 12 columns wide, which means that players are usually picky about their chosen crops.
While it's highly unlikely that the upcoming Update 1.6 for Stardew Valley will expand on the greenhouse in any meaningful way, ConcernedApe has teased the possibility of adding an Iridium Scythe to the game, which will make things even easier for maintaining Coop and Barn animals with an ample supply of hay. Though fans should expect Update 1.6 to launch in late 2023, there is no concrete release date known at this time.
