Choosing a farm layout is an important but difficult step in a playthrough of Stardew Valley. There are seven options from which players can choose and each suit different play styles. Of the current options in Stardew Valley, the Four Corners Farm stands out as one of the more interesting designs to take on.

While other farm designs heavily favor particular play styles, the four corners farm provides multiple sections with different environments. For those players looking to learn all about the four corners farm and how best to use it, this guide is here to help.

What are the Different Corners in the Four Corners Farm Map?

As with the other layouts in Stardew Valley, this farm can be a bit overwhelming when players start their playthrough. Fortunately, returning players will quickly realize that each corner is a small version of other farms. It is important to note that while the cliffs that divide the farm decrease the number of tillable tiles, the Four Corners Farm (2952 tillable spaces) ranks second only to the Standard farm (3247) in that respect.

Top Left Corner

The top left section of this layout takes on the characteristics of the Forest Farm map in Stardew Valley. In its unaltered state, there are numerous trees, rocks, and debris similar to other farms but what makes this area unique is the small grassy area with a stump in the lower left corner. Weeds here can also transform into the type that will always drop mixed seeds.

Top Right Corner

The top right section of the four corners layout is a traditional farm with the most amount of tillable tiles of the four spaces. This area functions just like the Standard Farm in Stardew Valley except its water feature is a much smaller pond. The dilapidated Greenhouse has also been moved from directly to the left of the farmhouse to the southwest, in the middle of the four corners.

Bottom Left Corner

Similar to the Riverland Farm, this area features the most water of the four corners. Players have a 50 percent chance of catching the fish found in the Cidersnap Forest in the pond at the lower part of this corner. This pond is what differentiates this section of this farm layout from the standard farm and is a fine option for those who enjoy fishing in Stardew Valley.

Bottom Right Corner

The bottom right section of this farm is basically a small version of the Hilltop farm in Stardew Valley. This means that it features a small quarry section where rocks and ore and geode nodes will spawn. The quality of ore is connected to the mining level of the player and will improve as players gain more experience.

What are the Main Advantages of the Four Corners Map?

The main reason why this farm exists is for those looking to set up a multiplayer playthrough. The variety of different styles and the split between sections help players to easily build up their own farms without overlapping with their fellow farmers. The amount of options also allows players to choose their particular favorite style of farm without forcing their decision on to someone else.

It remains a valuable option for those playing solo as well. Having some benefits of other types of farms from the game allows players to experience multiple farms in a single playthrough.

Stardew Valley is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
