Ditching the hectic city life and exhausting routine at Joja Corporation, the protagonist moves into Stardew Valley, to start a new life in the countryside. Once their farm is revived, players can find everlasting love, get married and settle down. If players choose their cards wisely, marriage is possible in the first year of their farm life.

Stardew Valley has about 45 townsfolk, including 12 eligible bachelors and bachelorettes that players can marry. Penny, an extremely shy and lovable girl, is one of these NPCs. For players who want to marry a traditional homemaker – Penny is the perfect choice. Romancing her can be tough as she’s an emotionally guarded resident, who spends her time reading books, and taking care of her sick alcoholic mother, Pam.

Penny’s Schedule

Getting to know the characters on a deeper level is key to building lasting relationships in Stardew Valley. Each of the characters has a unique daily schedule. Penny is active and moves around a lot; but it’s usually easy to find her, as she visits some places frequently.

Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday for all seasons – except Summer, Penny goes down to the Library or Museum to tutor Jas and Vincent from 9 AM to 2 PM. On Saturdays, the three of them visit the Graveyard and relax at the Playground from 10 AM to 5 PM.

For the rest of the week – Monday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, Penny heads over to the Graveyard and spends the day reading her books till noon. Then, she heads back to the trailer and gets busy with house chores. When she’s done, Penny can be found hanging out with Maru on the Saloon bench. The schedule for these days varies for the Summer and Winter seasons.

Penny’s Favorite Gifts

Each villager in Stardew Valley has a Heart meter, where one heart equals 250 Friendship points. Giving gifts to anyone in Pelican Town is one of the best ways to increase Friendship points in Stardew Valley. Penny loves receiving gifts – especially on her birthday (Fall 2), although her expensive taste makes a few of them hard for players to obtain if they’re just starting out.

Marrying Penny

On reaching ten hearts with Penny, it’s possible to marry her. Mayor Lewis sends out a letter that states villagers in Stardew Valley can propose using a special necklace – the Mermaid’s Pendant. This can be purchased for 5000 g from the Old Mariner at the tidal pools on the beach, who shows up on rainy days only. Players need to use the Rain Totem in Winters to trigger the Old Mariner’s appearance.

To reach the Beach, players need to repair the bridge for 300 Wood or purchase the second community upgrade from Robin. To be eligible for marriage, players need to upgrade the farmhouse at least once and have ten hearts with their partner. After the Pendant is accepted, players will be engaged to Penny.
