At the start of your adventure in Stardew Valley, it might be hard to make a decent profit, but overtime, your farm will bring in a lot of gold. This will allow you to improve the quality of your farm, and even add some aesthetically pleasing buildings to improve its appearance.

The Gold Clock is one of the most expensive buildings in the game, but has a lot of practical uses. Not only does it look amazing, but it also prevents fences from decaying and keeps debris from growing on your farm. This guide will show you where you can purchase the Gold Clock to make your farm look lavish.

How to Unlock the Gold Clock in Stardew Valley

In order to have access to the Gold Clock building, there are quite a few quests you'll need to complete first. To start, you'll want to complete the Community Center or JojaMart. This is one of the first things you should focus on when you start the game.

After completing one of these, you'll want to visit the Train Platform in the northern region of Pelican Town. This will begin the Dark Talisman quest, where you'll be required to assist the Wizard in finding his magic ink. Check out our guide on this quest here.

Directly after the Dark Talisman quest, you'll begin the Goblin Problem quest, which we also have an extensive guide for. At the end of this, you'll have successfully returned the magic ink to the Wizard, and you'll have access to some of the buildings he can create, including the Gold Clock.

Where to Find the Gold Clock in Stardew Valley

After completing the Goblin Problem quest, take a visit to the Wizard in his tower, found within Cindersap Forest. In the back left of his room, you'll notice a podium. If you interact with it, you'll have access to creating a few different buildings, including:

  • Junimo Hut
  • Gold Clock
  • Earth Obelisk
  • Water Obelisk
  • Desert Obelisk
  • Island Obelisk

Most of the buildings he offers are incredibly expensive, with the Gold Clock being the highest at 10,000,000g. Needless to say, you're going to have to set up a massive system on your farm to earn this much money. There are a few methods you can use to earn money more quickly, including:

  • Breeding pigs to get Truffles (and making truffles into Truffle Oil)
  • Make fruit into Wine
  • Use a Preserves Jar to create Caviar
  • Grow Rare Seeds

These are only a few options, as there is so much more you can do to make a large profit. Once you earn enough money to create a Gold Clock, you'll be able to place one on your farm. Luckily, you won't need to provide any materials, just the money, to create the building.
