There are brand-new creatures to catch in Stardew Valley, and this includes the many different jellies available. There are River Jellies, Sea Jellies, and even Cave Jellies, which are much more uncommon, and found in a hidden location within Pelican Town. Rather than taking a quick trip to the beach, or fishing along the river, Cave Jellies will require a bit more searching.

Though the Cave Jelly is the most difficult to obtain, it is worth the search due to its high profitability, and buffs that it can provide you if you eat it. Here's where you can find some Cave Jellies for yourself.

Where to Find Cave Jelly in Stardew Valley

As you begin your search for some Cave Jellies in Stardew Valley, there is only one location where you will find the uncommon critter: within The Mines, on Floor 100. There will be a small, red lake on this floor that you can fish in.

This area is also home to the Lava Eel, which is one of the more difficult fish to catch. If you're not already at Level 100 in The Mines, you can check out our guide on everything you'll need to know about The Mines and how to reach the top level.

You can also occasionally get Cave Jellies from a Lava Eel Fish Pond with a capacity of at least 8 fish.

How to Catch Cave Jelly in Stardew Valley

There are a few methods you can use to make it easier to catch yourself a Cave Jelly. You can utilize a few different baits and tackles to increase your chance of getting a Cave Jelly on your line. This includes:

  • Bait: Bait or Deluxe Bait
  • Tackle: Dressed Spinner

The Dressed Spinner tackle will attract more fish to your line, therefore increasing the bite-rate. This will give you a better chance to pull in a Cave Jelly quickly, and without having to worry about constantly pulling in trash items. Deluxe Bait is also another great addition that will increase the speed that fish bite, therefore making the process quicker. Once you reach the Level 100 lake, however, Cave Jellies are much more common than Lava Eels, so it shouldn't take you as long to hook one as a Sea Jelly or River Jelly.

How to Use Cave Jelly

Image of the recipe to create a Fish Smoker in Stardew Valley

Cave Jellies, just like any other item in the game, have a multitude of uses outside just selling them. This includes:

  • Sell for 180 g
  • Used to create a Fish Smoker (10x Hardwood, 1x Sea Jelly, 1x River Jelly, 1x Cave Jelly)
  • Used for consumption (Increases Luck by 1, restores 75 Energy, restores 33 Health)

If you haven't yet made yourself a Fish Smoker, then we highly recommend using your first caught Cave Jelly to make this item. It will allow you to smoke your caught fish, therefore increasing their selling value. Cave Jellies can also be a great thing to bring along as you venture through The Mines, as it will restore your health and keep you alive.
