New crops in Stardew Valley means new opportunities to make profitable artisan goods, and more options to sell as each new season arrives. Of these new crops, you'll now be able to start growing some broccoli in the fall, which can be used for food or even to make new clothing items.

Although a lot of crops can be purchased from Joja Mart or Pierre's Shop, broccoli is similar to that of carrots or summer squash, which can only be found through searching the overworld. If you're unsure how you can pick up some Broccoli Seeds of your own, here's where you can find them.

How to Get Broccoli in Stardew Valley

Most crops can be purchased, but broccoli can only be found through searching around Pelican Town. In the fall, you can use the following methods to have a chance of picking up some Broccoli Seeds:

  • Found in crates and boxes in The Mines
  • Found through digging Artifact Spots
  • Can be obtained from Mayor Lewis' prize machine
  • Can be found in Golden Fishing Treasure Chests

The easiest method for getting broccoli is through digging up Artifact Spots. You'll notice these worms sticking out of the ground that you can dig up using a Hoe to obtain items. To get broccoli, you'll want to make sure that the worms are green.

Another great option is by visiting Mayor Lewis' house, and inputting some prize tickets into his prize machine to get some Broccoli Seeds. You can only get these in the fall. To get prize tickets, you can either complete some quests and special orders, or obtain them through Festival wins. This includes:

  • Win the Egg Festival Egg Hunt
  • Win the Festival of Ice Fishing Challenge
  • Purchase at the Stardew Valley Fair for 1000 Star Tokens

Finally, you can get some Broccoli Seeds by breaking open crates and boxes found in The Mines. These often appear at random, and can obtain many different items, including Geodes, Gold Ore, Hardwood, and more. This method will be much less consistent, but if you're already making a trip to The Mines, it's worth keeping a lookout for these boxes and crates.

How to Plant Broccoli

Once you've got your hands on some Broccoli Seeds, it's time to start planting. Broccoli is a crop that can only be planted in the fall season, unless you place it in a Garden Pot indoors, or grow some in your Greenhouse.

Broccoli crops will grow after 8 days, and will continue to produce more product after every 4 days. This means you won't need to buy new seeds each time you harvest the broccoli, as it will continue to grow. If you want to sell broccoli, the selling price ranges from 70 g to 140 g based on the quality. You can also use some of the broccoli you've grown in the sewing machine to create a Button Down Shirt. Broccoli can also be great sustenance for your character, restoring 163 Energy and 73 Health when grown at Iridium-quality. Overall, this new crop can be incredibly useful to your farm when fall rolls around.
