Stardew Valley captivates players with its diverse range of crops, fruits, and vegetables that closely mirror their real-world counterparts. The in-game variety of crops shifts with the changing seasons, offering a dynamic farming experience. One such seasonal vegetable crop is Beets.

Beets are a Fall vegetable, known for their vibrant, deep red color and earthy, sweet flavor. They are typically grown for their fleshy roots, which can be consumed both cooked and raw. When consumed raw, Beets provide players with a subtle boost to their energy and health levels. This guide covers how players can grow nutrient-rich Beets on their farm in Stardew Valley.

How to Grow Beets in Stardew Valley

To grow Beets, players need to buy some unique Beet Seeds. Unfortunately, they are not sold at Pierre’s General Store or JojaMart. Beet Seeds can be purchased from Sandy at The Oasis Shop in the Desert for 20 g, or at the Traveling Cart with prices ranging from 100 to 1,000 gold. Alternatively, players may find five to twenty Beet Seeds hidden in treasure rooms in The Skull Cavern.

Beet Seeds can be planted in the Fall. Once planted, they take 6 days to mature into a Beet crop, ready for harvest. Players can get 1 Beet per harvest.

Uses of Beets in Stardew Valley

Beets can be sold to make decent money in Stardew Valley. The price depends on the quality of the Beet.

  • The best use for the sweet and earthy Beets is to process them into Sugar using a Mill. 1 Beet produces 3 Sugars that can be used in a variety of desserts.
  • Beets are also a key ingredient when cooking a nutritious Vegetable Medley. The ingredients required are 1 Beet and 1 Tomato. Additionally, 10 Beets are required to complete the second part of “The Mysterious Qi” quest.
  • They make a decent gift for the majority of the villagers in Pelican Town, except Abigail, Sam, Vincent, Jas, and Haley – who dislike Beets. A Beet may also be required to complete a remixed Dye Bundle on the Bulletin Board in the Community Centre. They serve as purple dye when used in the dye pots in Haley and Emily’s house.

Stardew Valley is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
