Sam’s Schedule

Sam is a lively and active villager, who moves around a lot. His schedule varies depending on the season, making it challenging for players to track him down. Mostly, Sam can be found playing guitar inside his bedroom or skateboarding around Town.

During the Spring and Summer, Sam works a part-time job. He heads to JojaMart on Mondays and Wednesdays and works from 12:50 to 4:00 PM. However, Sam will work at the Museum if the Community Center is restored. After his shift, he returns home to be with his family.

On Fridays, Sam visits The Stardrop Saloon. He arrives at the Salon at 4 PM and plays pool near the Arcade. At 9:20 PM, he leaves the Saloon and heads back home. On Saturdays, Sam typically spends the afternoon with his friend, Sebastian. During the summer, he takes his younger brother, Vincent, to The Beach on his free days.

Sam’s schedule differs for the Fall and Winter seasons. In the Fall, Sam leaves his house at 1:20 PM and walks to The Forest, where he stays till 7 PM. In the Winter, he tends to stay indoors more, except for his visits to the Stardrop Saloon in the evenings.

There are a few deviations from his regular routines. On Days 9 and 23 of every season, Sam takes a walk around Pelican Town. On Fall 11, he visits Harvey’s Clinic for his annual checkup. On Winter 17, he attends the Night Market at 5 PM. If it's raining outside, Sam usually stays indoors and plays on his handheld video game, or heads to the Stardrop Saloon at 2 PM.

Sam’s Heart Events are quite easy to trigger, as most of them take place inside his house. The player’s response during most of these events has no effect on their Friendship level with Sam, except for the four-heart event.

  • Two Hearts – Enter Sam’s house when he’s there. No matter which style of music the player picks, Sam and Sebastian agree with them.
  • Three Hearts – Visit the beach on a sunny day between 7 AM and 3 PM in any season except Winter. Sam asks for the player’s opinion on getting his younger brother’s hopes up. He agrees with whatever the player says.
  • Four Hearts – On entering Sam’s house, players find him in the kitchen. He offers the player a snack and accidentally drops an egg on the kitchen floor. Sam’s mother is upset about the mess and Sam asks the player to explain what happened. Players are presented with a choice. If they choose to take the blame, it boosts their friendship with Sam by 50 points.
  • Six Hearts – Enter the Town between 12 PM and 4 PM on any day when it’s not raining. Sam is skateboarding and Lewis catches him grinding on Emily and Haley’s flower box The Mayor asks for the player’s opinion on damaging private property.
  • Eight Hearts – Sam shows up at the player’s doorstep between 6 AM and 8 AM and invites them to see his band play in Zuzu City. This event will only trigger if players have seen Sam’s two-heart event.
  • Ten Hearts – After receiving a letter from Sam, players should enter the town on a sunny day between 8 PM and 12 AM. Sam sneakily guides the player to his room to have a private conversation. As he confesses his feelings, Sam's mother unexpectedly knocks on the door. He hurriedly hides the player inside the bed. When his mom finally leaves, players are presented with two choices: either ‘Get out of Bed’ or ‘Stay Put’. Depending on the choice made, Sam and the player share a kiss in this cutscene.

Dating and Marrying Sam

A player’s romantic relationship with Sam begins after developing an eight-heart friendship with him. To date Sam, players need to give him a flower Bouquet (sold at Pierre’s for 200 g). Sam will happily accept and his status in the Socials tab changes to “boyfriend”.
