Stardew Valley’s Update 1.6 brought tons of fresh content and improvements to make life in the Valley easier. One of the new additions to the game is a convenient machine known as the Bait Maker.
The Bait Maker is a piece of refining equipment that lets you create targeted bait for any type of fish. Having a Bait Maker can help you lure in those elusive rare fish and catch them faster since it eliminates the need to constantly search for bait suited to different catches. Stardew Valley: How to Get Mystic Syrup
Mystic Sap has a few good uses, and it comes from a new tree introduced in Stardew Valley's 1.6 update.
How To Get & Use Bait Maker
The crafting recipe for the Bait Maker is unlocked when Stardew Valley players reach Fishing Level 6. You can easily gain XP and level up your fishing skills by catching higher-quality (silver or gold tier) fish or harvesting Crab Pots.
Once you unlock the recipe, you need to collect the following materials to craft a Bait Maker:
- 3 Iron Bars
- 3 Corals
- 1 Sea Urchin
Iron Bars can be created by smelting 5 Iron Ore in a Furnace with one coal for fuel. You can collect iron ores by mining iron nodes on Levels 41 to 79 in the Mines. On the other hand, Corals and Sea Urchins are forageable items found abundantly in the Tide Pool section of the Beach.
Similar to other equipment, the Bait Maker can be placed anywhere on the farm once crafted.
How to Use Bait Maker in Stardew Valley
Now that you have a Bait Maker, you can create specific bait for any fish in Stardew Valley, provided you own one sample of that fish. For instance, if you want to create a Midnight Carp Bait, you will need one Midnight Carp.
To use the Bait Maker, simply place any fish into the machine and wait for the process to complete. It takes about 10 minutes for the Bait Maker to create the fish-specific bait.
Using the fish-specific bait will significantly increase your chance of catching that particular fish, provided it can be caught in that area. For example, using Woodskip Bait will increase the chances of catching Woodskip, a unique fish found in the Secret Woods.
Some fish in Stardew Valley are considerably more valuable than others. Using targeted bait can help you catch these high-value fish more often, ultimately boosting your income.
