With the release of the 1.6 update, the game world of Stardew Valley has been replenished with several new crops, one of which is Powdermelon. This bright fruit can be an excellent energy and income source in the winter if you do not have time to stock up before the cold weather arrives. It's also a great reason to refresh your farmland, but getting seeds for this crop is not so easy.

Unfortunately, players cannot purchase Powdermelon Seeds or ripe fruit from Pierre's general store or any other store. Instead, you must dress warmly and go on a treasure hunt, and little worms will show you the right path.

Where To Find Powdermelon Seeds In Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley worms

First of all, it is worth noting that you can only find Powdermelon Seeds in Winter. Go to any part of the forest and look for artifact spots or grass spots. The little worms that often point to artifacts can sometimes lead you to new seeds. However, they can also lead you to other stuff, so digging in places with three blades of grass is slightly more effective. Grass spots don't offer a wide variety of crops in the winter, so a few hits with a hoe will likely reward you with Powdermelon Seeds.

It is also worth noting that excavations in the wild are not the only way to obtain seeds. Like most other plants, you can place ripe Powdermelon in a Seed Maker to get Powdermelon seeds.

Once you've collected a few Powdermelon Seeds, you'll probably want to grow a new fruit on your Stardew Valley farm. Powdermelon is strictly a winter crop, so you can only grow it at this time of year. After planting the seeds, care for them like any other crop, and harvest them after seven days.

How To Use Powdermelon In Stardew Valley

Powdermelon in Stardew Valley

After waiting seven days and reaping a cool but sweet harvest, you can finally taste the fruits of your labors. As previously stated, Powdermelon is a good source of energy both in its raw form and as an ingredient for cooking more nutritious meals.

Additionally, you can sell this plant for 66-132g, depending on the quality of the crop. And if you still have a few Powdermelons left, you can donate them to the locals. Some NPCs will be happy with such a gift in this cold season.
