Now that you can adopt more than one pet in Stardew Valley, you need proper items to care for these additional animal friends on your farm. Pet Bowls provide an excellent means of doing so, ensuring that your lovely companions never feel thirsty.
However, newcomers to Stardew Valley may not be aware of how to get Pet Bowls. For those unsure, this detailed guide will outline everything you need to know about these items and help you master their functionality.
Stardew Valley: How to Craft Big Chest
Big Chests can help you efficiently organize all of your items and save space on the farm in Stardew Valley. Here’s how you can craft one.
How to Get Pet Bowls in Stardew Valley
To purchase a Pet Bowl, visit Robin’s Carpentry Shop. After the 1.6 Update, she sells farm animals exclusive water bowls for 5,000g each. Simply select “Construct Farm Buildings” and scroll until you come across “Pet Bowl.” Note that, in addition to Gold, you need 25 Hardwoods to construct this building.
The Pet Bowl is a prefabricated item, which means that it will spawn on your farm as soon as you purchase it. You will also have the option to relocate it.
With the new 1.6 Update, you can now see the pet’s name in a pop-up bubble once you get close to their Bowl.
How to Change a Pet Bowl’s Style in Stardew Valley
Pet Bowls come in three different styles: Rustic, Stone, and Wood. To change their styles, press the little house icon in the bottom-right corner of the image. (The icon is next to the item’s description.) Luckily, changing a Bowl’s style doesn’t affect its price, but players should note that their decision cannot be changed.
How to Use Pet Bowls in Stardew Valley
Each Pet Bowl allows for the addition of one new pet on the farm. To use it correctly, place it somewhere cozy on the farm and talk to Marnie afterward. She will offer Pet Licenses that enable multiple pet adaptations — something you had to do through mods in the previous versions.
Pet Bowls are also considered dedicated homes for the respective pets. So, by placing them on a specific part of the farm, you are asking the companion animal to hang around that particular area.
How to Move Pet Bowls in Stardew Valley
To change the location of a Pet Bowl, talk to Robin. Similar to other farm structures, you can ask her to move them for you. Of course, this will cost you some Gold. However, the process is instant and will require no downtime. Just make certain your desired new spot is free of debris and clutter.
