Stardew Valley Expanded is a hugely popular mod for the original game, created by FlashShifter. Adding a massive amount of content including new locations, characters, and events, it's an exciting mod for Stardew Valley fans. Expanded takes a bit of work to set up, but it's worth it for the new content, which slots in nicely with the rest of the game.

Along with new characters and new content for original characters from Stardew Valley, Expanded brings with it a list of new consumables, recipes, and fish. Some of these food recipes have useful buffs, making farming, fishing, and mining much easier to deal with. The recipes are listed below, but a quick note first - this doesn't include Grampleton Orange Chicken, which can't be sold or crafted after viewing Sophia's 6 heart event.

10 Baked Berry Oatmeal

Aurora Vineyard in Stardew Valley at night
  • Ingredients: 15 x salmonberry, 15 x blackberry, 1 x sugar, 2 x wheat flour
  • Restores: 200 energy, 80 health
  • Buffs: +4 farming, +4 foraging, +2 speed (26 minute duration)

Baked Berry Oatmeal is a powerful recipe if there's a lot of harvesting to do. With buffs in farming, foraging, and speed, it will give players a huge energy and health boost, too. An excellent all-rounder, and well worth seeking out for keen foragers.

Players can get this recipe from the Bear, who lives on the corner of Forest West. It's worth visiting Bear's shop for crafting ingredients and recipes, although it can be tricky to find him. Players must follow a path near Aurora Vineyards until they find a gap in the treeline.

Players can give Baked Berry Oatmeal to Andy, Demetrius, Linus, and Robin with good results.

9 Big Bark Burger

Gus in Stardew Valley
  • Ingredients: 1 x puppyfish, 1 x bread, 1 x oil
  • Restores: 213 energy, 95 health
  • Buffs: +1 speed, +3 attack (8 minute duration)

The Big Bark Burger, while trickier to make (as it involves getting a puppyfish first), is perfect to eat before a battle. It restores a decent amount of energy and health, and the buffs are helpful, with +1 speed and +3 attack.

Players can get the recipe from Gus once they reach 5 hearts with him. Gus loves Big Bark Burgers! Martin also appreciates the gift of a burger if gamers are looking to impress him.

Foraging for spring onions in Stardew Valley
  • Ingredients: 1 x Ferngill Primrose, 1 x Goldenrod, 1 x Winter Star Rose, 1 x Wheat Flour, 1 x Sugar, 1 x Large Egg
  • Restores: 188 energy, 84 health
  • Buffs: +2 luck, +2 foraging, +2 speed (13 minute duration)

The Flower Cookie is an interesting one. It takes a little foraging to gather the ingredients, but it offers buffs for luck, foraging, and speed. Perfect for hunting down harder-to-find items if players are on a foraging mission.

The recipe for Flower Cookies comes from the Bear shop. If players want to impress Sophia, she will appreciate the gift of a Flower Cookie.

7 Frog Legs

Stardew Valley Expanded player catches frog
  • Ingredients: 1 x frog, 1 x oil, 1 x wheat flour
  • Restores: 75 energy, 33 health
  • Buffs: +2 speed, +2 defense (8 minute duration)

Frog Legs give you a decent buff of speed and defense and are considered a delicacy (and therefore, an excellent gift) by Linus, Pierre, and Magnus.

Marlon sells this recipe for a cool 2000g. Players can catch frogs in the Mountain area in the Spring and Summer but will require a fishing level of 5 first.

6 Glazed Butterfish

Fishing in Stardew Valley
  • Ingredients: 1 x butterfish, 1 x wheat flour, 1 x oil
  • Restores: 200 energy, 89 health
  • Buffs: +2 fishing, +2 luck (8 minute duration)

Glazed Butterfish can make a huge difference if players want to catch rare fish. With a +2 buff for both fishing and luck, it's worth the effort. It has relatively few ingredients which is a plus. Butterfish can be caught in the Forest West area, or on Shearwater Bridge.

The recipe for Glazed Butterfish comes from Gus after players reach level 5 friendship. Andy, Claire, and Sam love Glazed Butterfish.

5 Mixed Berry Pie

Stardew Valley In Fall Season

The recipe comes from Gus for 3500g. It's a popular gift for villagers, too: many characters love a Mixed Berry Pie, including Andy, Claire, Evelyn, Jas, Leah, Martin, Sandy, Sophia, Susan, and Vincent.

4 Mushroom Berry Rice

A mushroom cave in Stardew Valley
  • Ingredients: 3 x poison mushroom, 3 x red baneberry, 1 x rice, 1 x sugar
  • Restores: 3 energy, 1 health
  • Buffs: +3 mining, Max Energy -50, +32 magnetism, +3 attack, +3 defense (13 minute duration)

While poison mushrooms mixed with berries don't sound that appetizing, the Mushroom Berry Rice recipe has some interesting buffs. It reduces max energy by 50 points, but it increases magnetism by 32 points. Magnetism increases the radius in which objects will automatically be added to the player's inventory, making collecting objects easier.

The recipe for Mushroom Berry Rice comes from Marlon's shop in the Adventurer's Guild for 1500g.

3 Seaweed Salad

Fishing for seaweed in Stardew Valley
  • Ingredients: 2 x dulse seaweed, 2 x seaweed, 1 x oil
  • Restores: 175 energy, 79 health
  • Buffs: +1 fishing, Max Energy +30 (15 minute duration)

Players can find the recipe from Willy in the bait shop. It costs 1250g. (Coincidentally, Willy really loves Seaweed Salad too, so it's a good choice to give to him in return.)

2 Void Delight

Happy Krobus in Stardew Valley
  • Ingredients: 1 x void eel, void essence (20), solar essence (20)
  • Restores: 3 energy, 1 health
  • Buffs: +2 mining, + 2 luck, Max Energy +20, +2 magnetism, +2 speed, +3 attack

The ominously-named Void Delight is actually excellent in terms of buffs. It gives mining, magnetism, speed, and attack a boost, as well as increasing Max Energy by 20 points.

The recipe is a little trickier to get, though. Players need a 10-heart relationship with Krobus and will have to pay 5000g. Both Krobus and Magnus love Void Delight as a gift.

1 Void Salmon Sushi

Happy Krobus on his birthday in Stardew Valley
  • Ingredients: 1 x void salmon, 1 x void mayonnaise, 3 x seaweed
  • Restores: 3 energy, 3 health
  • Buffs: +3 fishing, +3 luck, +5 defense, Max Energy +50

Void Salmon Sushi gives a good boost to fishing and luck, so it's the best recipe if players want to catch rare fish. It also increases Max Energy to +50, so it's ideal for long fishing sessions. It also boosts defense by a whopping 5 points.

The recipe can be bought from Krobus after reaching 10 hearts on the friendship scale. It costs 5000g to purchase. It makes a good gift for Krobus, too.
