Stardew Valley Expanded features a brand-new host of characters for players to get to know alongside the usual Stardew Valley regulars. One of these new characters is Claire, a quiet woman with big dreams and a taste for film and tea. She lives outside of Pelican Town, but players can catch her when she comes to work in-town.

For players who enjoy building relationships with the many NPCs Stardew Valley and Expanded have to offer, getting to know Claire is definitely something to look forward to. However, it can be difficult to know where to begin when befriending and romancing brand-new characters, and this can be even more difficult when there are so many other new features to get used to at the same time. In an attempt to make this challenge a little easier, this guide will help give players an insight into Claire's likes, dislikes, schedule, and more.

5 Claire's Regular Schedule For Every Season

Stardew Valley Expanded Claire NPC (1)

With many characters in Stardew Valley, they will have a set schedule that changes depending on the season, the day, and even the weather. In this case, however, Stardew Valley Expanded's Claire has one of the strictest schedules in the entire game, impacted only by where she works and how many heart events the player has managed to gain with her.

While Claire's schedule is very regular, she only appears in Pelican Town on days that she works. Outside of this, she lives in the Country outside of Pelican Town, and she can't be visited otherwise. As such, players should plan carefully to make sure they don't miss her.

4 The Best Gifts For Claire: Likes, Loves, Dislikes, And Hate

claire stardew valley e0tended heart event

The gifting mechanic in Stardew Valley is one of the best and most efficient ways to raise friendship with your fellow townspeople. Raising friendship is the best way to grow closer to specific characters to gain special recipes and that all-important opportunity for romance and marriage, so players should take advantage of it as best they can to ensure they get the most out of the game.

Claire's tastes in gifts are somewhat mixed, though it's easier to figure out the pattern within her dislikes than her likes. Claire seems to dislike and even hate receiving most alcohol and fish as gifts, so it should be easy for players to avoid upset by choosing not to gift these things to her. She does seem to particularly enjoy fruit and tea, so these are much safer bets.

3 Movie Theater: Claire's Favorites

Stardew Valley Movie Theater

Since the Movie Theater was added in Update 1.4 of Stardew Valley, players have been able to invite their favorite villages to go see a movie. Taking advantage of the Movie Theater and everything it has to offer is simple; all the player has to do is visit the Movie Theater and buy a ticket for 1,000g. If the player would also like to bring someone else along to see a movie, buy a ticket and gift it to a character to invite them along. Then, show up at the Movie Theater on the same day.

While at the Theater, players can choose different movies and concessions that will impact each character differently. By inviting a character to see a movie they love and by buying them snacks they'll enjoy, the player will receive a huge boost to their friendship with their chosen partner. This is definitely something players should take advantage of if they want to raise friendships quickly.

2 Claire's Heart Events

Stardew Valley Extended Claire Theater

Heart events occur in Stardew Valley (and, of course, Expanded) when players grow especially close to a particular character. They give players a deeper insight into the personal life of a specific character and can often have particularly heartwarming scenes. Claire has a lot of heart events, and the twelve and fourteen heart events will only occur once the player has married Claire. The six heart event is particularly useful for all players to get, regardless of whether they are planning on romancing Claire, because without achieving it, she will stop heading to town if she loses her job.

  • Half a Heart: enter JojaMart in Spring or Summer during Year One. It will not take place on Tuesday or Saturday.
  • Two Hearts: enter the Saloon between 12:00 PM and 10:00 PM.
  • Four Hearts: enter Town on any sunny day between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
  • Six Hearts: enter Town on any sunny day between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
  • Eight Hearts: enter the Seed Shop between 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Ten Hearts (I): enter Town on any sunny or rainy day between 8:00 PM and 2:00 AM.
  • Ten Hearts (II): head to the Bus Stop between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
  • Twelve Hearts (I): enter the Farmhouse on any sunny day between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM during any season that isn't Winter.
  • Twelve Hearts (II): enter the Farmhouse on any sunny day between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM during any season that isn't Winter. Will only occur on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
  • Twelve Hearts (III): enter Town on any Thursday.
  • Twelve Hearts (IV): enter Town on any Wednesday.
  • Fourteen Hearts (I): enter the Farmhouse on any sunny day between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM. The player must have unlocked the Movie Theater, and the date must be between the 1st and 13th of the current season.
  • Fourteen Hearts (II): head to the Bus Stop between 3:00 PM and 10:00 PM. The date must be between the 19th and 28th of the current season.
  • Fourteen Hearts (III): enter the Farmhouse. The date must be between the 7th and 19th of the current season.
  • Fourteen Hearts (IV): enter Town. The player must have unlocked the Movie Theater.

1 What Happens After Marrying Claire?

Stardew Valley Expanded Claire Marriage

After marrying Claire, she will move into the Farmhouse alongside the player. On the right side of the Farmhouse, she'll build her own little room where she can read and enjoy tea. As well as this, she'll craft a small garden around the back of the Farmhouse where she can grow her own green tea saplings. Unlike many other marriage candidates, Claire is still quite busy even after moving in with the player, and she will often leave the Farm to work at Joja or the Theater, depending on which location is still open. However, she will be found on the Farm on Fridays.

In the morning, Claire may give the player Coffee, Complete Breakfast, Fried Egg, Hashbrowns, Pancakes, or Omelet. On mornings when she mentions being tired, she may give the player a Triple Shot Espresso instead of a Coffee. For dinner, Claire can give the player a massive range of food, including Autumn's Bounty, Cheese Cauliflower, Crispy Bass, Eggplant Parmesan, Fiddlehead Risotto, Fried Mushrooms, Fruit Salad, Pumpkin Soup, Radish Salad, Roasted Hazelnuts, Salad, Salmon Dinner, Shrimp Cocktail, Spaghetti, or Vegetable Medley. On days when Claire bakes, she may give the player Blackberry Cobbler, Blueberry Tart, Chocolate Cake, Cookie, Cranberry Candy, Pink Cake, Pumpkin Pie, or Rhubarb Pie for dessert.
