Eric Barone, the creator of Stardew Valley, revealed through Twitter today that he is currently working on a couple of new projects. He confirmed that one will take place in the world of Stardew Valley, while the other will simply tie-in to the game somehow.

The news of these projects came through a response to a Twitter user's query about new games taking place in the Stardew Valley universe. Barone says that one will definitely be within the same world players know and love, but it will not be a farming game. The second title appears to still in its planning phases, as Barone states he's not sure where it will take place. It will, however, still be connected to Stardew Valley in some capacity.

Word spread fast after Barone made this statement. He quickly hopped on Twitter once again to make sure things didn't spiral out of control. "... all I ask is please don't get too hyped at this stage," Barone said, requesting people let him work at his own pace without pressure or expectations. He later added that he isn't trying to match the immense success of Stardew Valley, he merely wants to make a game he's happy with.

For those who still haven't picked up the title, now is the perfect time to give it a spin. Stardew Valley is available on every major platform, with the Switch being the most recent to add the game to its library. When it released for Nintendo's latest console, it became the most downloaded Switch title of 2017, beating out many other hits that year like Sonic Mania.

But even veterans will want to give the game another go at some point. All that happens in Stardew Valley is dependent on a player's choices, so every playthrough can be vastly different. The game has a surprising amount of depth, and things don't always pan out perfectly the first time around. Take romance options, for instance. There are good romances and bad ones, which are mostly determined by how easy it is to increase the relationship and what gifts players get in return, but also on the character's story and personality.

Stardew Valley was released in February 2016 and is available on Mac, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
