Stardew Valley's 1.6 update introduced the ability for pets to bring players items once they achieve max bond with them. Getting to max bond can take a while, as the farmer is limited to petting their chosen pet once a day and filling their water bowl as the sole ways of raising their affection. However, it's well worth it, as players not only get a charming message when they reach full bond, but now with the latest update, it also unlocks the ability for pets to bring gifts to their owners.

Stardew Valley player Halfblooddemon shared their excitement with the community, uploading a screenshot from the game of their farmer receiving a gift from their cat. Their white cat brought them a 
Sturgeon , one of the myriads of fish available in the game. Sturgeon aren't the absolute most difficult fish to catch in Stardew Valley, but it can be tricky to reel them in, and their spawn rate isn't the highest. Halfblooddemon said they had been struggling to catch a Sturgeon for a long time when their cat suddenly offered them exactly what they needed.
Other players were thrilled for Halfblooddemon, expressing amusement and praise for their cat. Several didn't know that pets could bring items to their masters as of the latest update, though this may be partially due to the fact that Stardew Valley 1.6's update isn't available on consoles or mobile yet. Dogs and cats can both bring random goodies to their owners, but it's not always as lucky for everyone as it was for the OP. One fan, for example, talked about how their cat would only bring them broken CDs and glasses, which are mostly useless outside of materials gained from recycling them.
