A Stardew Valley player unintentionally created a swamp in the middle of their farm, and they are unsure how it happened. The title received several small patches recently after its most recent major update introduced a number of technical issues.

In Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone's critically acclaimed Stardew Valley, the protagonist inherits their dead grandfather's broken-down farm located west of Pelican Town, the small community that houses most of the game's characters. While people can choose from several farm types nowadays, there was a period when the title only had a single layout, which resulted in those who wanted to spice up their homesteads at the time to use mods. One player, however, has discovered that these kinds of customizations may lead to some strange bugs in Stardew Valley.

Reddit user renaissance_grrl shared in a recent post that they accidentally made a swamp in their Stardew Valley farm. They had loaded a save file that preceded the game's 1.6 update and discovered that there were several tillable tiles with crops on their farm's river. The save featured the Riverland layout, which is just one of Stardew Valley's many unique farm types that were added following the game's launch in early 2016.

Players cannot traverse through water, so it was only natural for renaissance_grrl to wonder how the tillable tiles ended up on top of the river. Another Reddit user theorized that renaissance_grrl may have previously used a mod that replaced Stardew Valley's Riverland farm with something else, resulting in the strange tile placements. Renaissance_grrl, who also believes that a mod most likely caused this glitch, told community members that they just plan to start a new save.

Gamers encountered all sorts of technical problems following the release of Stardew Valley's big 1.6 update in March. In the past, Barone promised to address any issues that the update would introduce before turning his attention to the highly anticipated Haunted Chocolatier, and he kept true to his word, pumping out eight patches that delivered fixes since 1.6 was dropped. The latest of these, update 1.6.8, was released on April 28, and it fixed a game-breaking crash from happening should any NPC reach the changing room in Stardew Valley's island resort area.

The 1.6 build of Barone's beloved farm life simulator added a new Meadowlands farm layout to Stardew Valley. This farm type only has 2,066 tillable tiles instead of the default layout's 3,427, but it features new blue grass that animals love. Stardew Valley players who opt to use the Meadowlands farm also start the game with a coop and two chickens.
