10 Coruscant

The City-Planet

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Coruscant Menu

Like in the movies, Coruscant is the capital of the Galactic Republic and one of the most advanced planets in the Star Wars universe. It is the second planet Republic players visit and stands in stark contrast to the much more primitive starter planets, Tython and Ord Mantell.

Coruscant’s beauty comes from its futuristic technology, which allows it to stand out from other planets. Its towers rise far above the player’s reach, and there is always a bustling atmosphere of city life as one can see flying vehicles in the distance. The contrast between refined upper and dangerous lower levels also adds uniqueness to the planet.

9 Zakuul

The Central Seat To The Eternal Empire

Zakuul is a unique planet that has been introduced to Star Wars lore in this game, and it is immediately notable for its distinct history. A world where the advancement of which was spearheaded by Emperor Valkorion, now rising to galactic domination. While its swampy landscapes are not impressive, the city is another matter entirely.

The Eternal City might seem similar to Coruscant, with a similar divide between upper and lower levels, but it has unique Zakuulan architecture, frequent use of silver and gold colors, and spires fueled by solar energy. Its design masterfully accomplishes the job of reflecting the glory of the Eternal Empire.

8 Hoth

An Icy Graveyard With A Cold History

Hoth is a planet familiar to all Star Wars fans, as it was the site of a famous battle in Episode Five. The Old Republic version of Hoth isn’t much different except for the fact that it serves as a graveyard for a few cruisers, and both the Republic and the Empire clash over its vast resources.

Whilst it takes a lot of dedication to become a Jedi, these members of the once benevolent order in Star Wars exhibit too much incompetence.

Hoth’s landscape is hardly diverse, but that does not mean it’s without its own wonders. The icy glades can create a serene atmosphere. Once the player lands on a planet, they will feel like they are amidst a mysterious snowy desert. Occasional landmarks like an icy bastion or a collapsed ship make the planet feel grander.

7 Voss

A Strange New World With Waring Factions

Voss is another unique addition to the universe introduced in this game, so much so that its unfamiliarity and mystique might come off as unnatural or unusual in the context of Star Wars. It is home to a force-sensitive race of Voss, who are keen on maintaining neutrality and refusing to align themselves with either faction.

The Voss terrain is filled with Autumn-like forests and plains with lush nature and a lot of yellow color sprinkled in. It also has various ruins and Voss artifacts that create ample exploration opportunities. The Dark Heart is a unique region, as most of nature is dead there, creating a dark and uniquely enticing atmosphere.

6 Dromund Kaas

A Heart Of Darkness In A Vast Galaxy

The Sith Captial, Dromund Kass from Star Wars: The Old Republic

Dromund Kaas is the complete opposite of Coruscant, which makes sense, considering it is the capital of the Sith Empire, where the Emperor resides. It is the second planet that Empire players visit, as they are immediately subjected to this world's grim and harrowing atmosphere, something that makes it unique and intriguing.

Dromund Kaas has a city whose design will remind fans of traditional Imperial architecture in Star Wars. However, outside of it lies a lush jungle full of wildlife, ancient Sith temples, and other secrets to find. The sky is always dark and full of storms and lightning, which makes this planet a perfect fit for a true Sith.

5 Yavin 4

Endless Jungles Of Interest To Sith & Jedi

yavin-4-star-wars

The moon of Yavin 4 is another world in design quite similar to Dromund Kaas. It was added in the Shadow of Revan expansion and serves as the staging ground for the final confrontation against Revan. It is also known for being naturally attuned to the dark side of the force, but compared to Dromund Kaas or Korriban, it’s less grim.

The moon is filled with jungle and ancient Sith temples, allowing players to see many impressive vistas and sights. However, the most notable attributes of the planet are its sky and the crimson moon that shines in there. This element makes the world feel haunted and corrupted, which perfectly encapsulates the essence of Yavin 4.

4 Tython

A Cradle To The Jedi Of Old

Tython The Mandalorian Seeing Stones

The first planet that any Jedi player will visit is Tython, the sacred sight of the temple and training ground for young padawans. Unlike the Jedi temple shown in the Prequel Trilogy, this one is far away from the capital of the Republic or any kind of politics, allowing more room for the Jedi to exist among favorable surroundings.

Jedi strive to achieve peace, which is the perfect word to describe Tython. This serene planet is full of forests, wildlife, and waterfalls. It also has mountainous terrain, and the Jedi temple is amidst some of those mountains. This planet is a beautiful sight to behold and is a perfect fit for a Jedi.

3 Makeb

A Paradise Collapsing Under Crime

makeb surface

Makeb is a planet added to the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion, known as a galactic paradise. Before the Hutts attacked, its people enjoyed life and avoided war or conflict. However, once that changed, they had no choice but to turn towards the Republic in an attempt to escape their planet as it became engulfed in cataclysm.

Despite the tremors, Makeb maintains its beauty. It is a chain of floating isles filled with grass and mountainous landscapes, making it a welcoming place that would feel very liberating. The fact that the islands are floating and so close to the sky is the charm Makeb possesses, and it leaves no one questioning why it is called a paradise.

2 Onderon

A Lush World Filled With Beasts

Jedi duels three onderon guards

Onderon is a relatively new addition to the game, coming in the Onslaught expansion, but it has made several notable appearances in Star Wars prior. Fans would be familiar with the planet from the Clone Wars TV series and/or Knights of the Old Republic 2, which made its reappearance one of the more exciting aspects of Onslaught.

1 Alderaan

A Noble Planet Plunged Into A Brutal Civil War

Star-Wars-Old-Republic-Alderaan-City

Alderaan is one of the most well-known planets in Star Wars, appearing as early as A New Hope. It’s known for getting blown up at the orders of Grand Moff Tarkin. However, its later appearances have shown that there is far more to be appreciated on this planet than its dramatic end, and SWTOR is no exception.

It is a planet with a chill climate, combining lush, serene forests and snowy mountainous peaks that rise above the ground. Its sky is almost always clear and serene, allowing the players to look far into the distance and gauge the planet’s immense scope. Alderaan takes its rightful place as the most beautiful planet in SWTOR.
