Disney has unveiled the first official trailer for the highly-anticipated third season of the original series The Mandalorian, which will look to make its arrival in February 2023 on the Disney Plus streaming platform. The brand-new season will usher in the return of the bounty hunter Din Djarin, played by The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal and his green companion Grogu. In addition, the series will welcome several new and familiar foes that will add exciting tension to the Star Wars adventure.

The second season of The Mandalorian ended emotionally in December 2020, concluding with Djarin removing his helmet to say a final goodbye to Grogu as he headed off to begin his training with Luke Skywalker. The moment between the two characters carried incredible weight as it was the first time Djarin removed his helmet, which goes against the Mandalorian code. The consequences will undoubtedly have rippling effects, which will look to surface in the new season.

The brand-new trailer for the upcoming third season of The Mandalorian does not pick up after the events of season two but instead picks up after the events that took place in the first season of the original series, The Book of Boba Fett. Dijarin and Grogu appeared later in the season, which ended with Grogu opting out of his training with Skywalker to return to Dijarin. The trailer opens with the iconic shot of the character's first interaction, setting the stage for the adventure to come.

"You are a Mandalorian no more," utters a voice to Dijarin as the trailer progresses, highlighting the repercussions of this decision to remove his helmet. The re-emergence of Bo-Katan, played by Katee Sackhoff, presents a potential obstacle for the two characters, but her presence could additionally be one of support, which will only surface once the series arrives. It will be interesting to see where the journey takes Dijarin and Grogu, who are now "a clan of two," as the trailer suggests.

Missing from the trailer was Giancarlo Esposito, who plays the series villain Moff Gideon, but more should surface once the release date inches closer into view. Audiences were given a glimpse of some return faces to the upcoming new season, but the companionship of Dijarin and Grogu commanded the footage and took center stage. "Are you ready for an adventure?" are the word Dijarin uttered to Grogu, opening the door for a hopefully memorable third installment.

The Mandaolrian season 3 will arrive in 2023.
