With the beloved Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian gearing up for its 3rd season, now is the perfect time to get those hype levels up. So what better way to do so than a fresh new trailer teasing tons of action and plenty more cuteness from everybody's favorite little green 50-year-old baby Grogu?

To be perfectly real, this is a trailer for The Mandalorian, so it feels like a trailer for The Mandalorian. It's got that catchy western-style background music, a melancholic monologue from the main character, and lots of ships going all zoom zoom. Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin is back just in time to ride that wave of adoration now flowing from fans around his similarly high-profile role as Joel in HBO's The Last of Us. But that isn't the only reason to get excited. The Mandalorian is back, and he's got some new armored friends.

The trailer on the Star Wars YouTube channel definitely seems to know its audience, with callbacks aplenty ensuring any newcomers will be comfortably confused as to why their diehard fan friends are losing their minds over a couple of little wrinkly puppets. That's right, as expected of The Mandalorian season 3, Babu Frik is here and ready to be weird. Of course, there's plenty more. From a squad of Mandalorians at Din's back to the return of Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, what's not to love? Plus, if the trailer is too much sensory overload, there's also a snazzy new poster depicting Din with Grogu flying away from an unseen explosion. That sounds about right.

Among other juicy morsels seen throughout the trailer, eagle-eyed fans may notice that Din's new modified N-1 Starfighter isn't the only ship he'll be flying. Later on, he appears to be piloting a ship strikingly similar to the updated Jedi Starfighters seen in the tragic Revenge of the Sith with several TIE Interceptors hot on his tail. But perhaps the most enticing footage deals with a group of armored Mandalorian figures flanking Din, presumably backing him up in an approaching battle.

The rising tension from this scene comes to a head later on when a number of presumably the same Mandalorians drop out of a ship into a huge firefight in a city. Their brutality likely leads viewers to hope they're on Din's side. But given the drama regarding the Darksaber in the previous season, it's terrifyingly possible that these Mandalorians will serve as villains with Katee Sackhoff's Bo Katan leading the charge. Don't worry, though. Grogu's Force powers appear to be progressing even further, so maybe he'll become an unexpected asset to whatever ultimate battle ends up ensuing.

This preview is jam-packed with new material, from a bar bizarrely filled with battle droids to another appearance from future Avatar: The Last Airbender star Paul Sun-Hyung Lee. That's not even to mention what appears to be a flashback sequence with a bunch of lightsaber-wielding Jedi. Just like a Rian Johnson movie, this one is going to require multiple viewings, and that's just the trailer. Imagine what the show itself will be like.

The Mandalorian season 3 will premiere March 1st on Disney+.
