Proof has emerged that the release date for the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws may be much sooner than many gamers are anticipating. As pointed out by Twitter user Jorraptor, Star Wars Outlaws has been rated by a South Korean ratings board. This means that it has been sent out for certification by Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment, which would suggest a release is close for one of the most anticipated games of 2024. Jorraptor compared the time between the rating and release of other similar titles, with some interesting findings. Assassin's Creed Mirage was 80 days between rating and release, while The Division 2 (Massive Entertainment's previous title) was 63 days. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor went 109 days between rating and release, although this was due to an unexpected delay.

Star Wars Outlaws Release Date Hints

With these dates in mind, it's entirely possible that Star Wars Outlaws is preparing for a late May or early June release. Considering the hype for what may go on to become one of the best Star Wars games on the market, this would come as a surprise. The game may be ready, but the lack of a marketing campaign of late would feel like a slightly wasted opportunity unless Ubisoft ramps this up extremely fast. It's rare that there is so little time between a release date and its announcement, but it could result in a nice surprise for gamers.

It feels as though Star Wars games are in a pretty strong place right now. The exclusivity deal that EA held to make Star Wars games has now expired, and the general sentiment from gamers is that the agreement was perhaps not as fruitful as it could have been. Now, with other developers able to work within that universe, there's more potential for amazing titles from a variety of different perspectives. The recent cancelation of Respawn's Star Wars FPS was certainly a gut punch for fans, and hopefully, other great projects can mend the wound in the future.
