Star Wars Outlaws creative director Julian Gerighty has confirmed that the open world game will take about 25 to 30 hours to complete for those that focus on the main story, while completionists are looking at 50 to 60 hours. Star Wars Outlaws is being presented as the first truly open world Star Wars game, and like other games in the genre, it is looking to be packed with content.

Star Wars Outlaws was prominently featured at gaming events earlier this month. A brief Star Wars Outlaws trailer was shown at Summer Game Fest, followed by a more comprehensive deep dive at Ubisoft Forward. Based on what's been shown of the game so far, Star Wars enthusiasts should definitely make sure to keep Outlaws on their radar.

However, there may be some Star Wars fans a bit apprehensive about taking on Star Wars Outlaws, as some Ubisoft open world games have been known to balloon to rather extreme playtimes, with the more recent Assassin's Creed games being the most egregious examples. Luckily, it seems Star Wars Outlaws is going to be perfectly manageable while still offering fans plenty to do as they explore its open world. As creative director Gerighty revealed to VGC, Star Wars Outlaws is going to be 25 to 30 hours for those that focus on the "golden path adventure," while completionists can expect the experience to last 50 to 60 hours. This is in line with what was previously promised about Star Wars Outlaws' game length, as last year Gerighty stressed that the game would not be hundreds of hours long.

Fans won't know how the game is until they get their hands on it, and luckily, the wait to play Star Wars Outlaws is nearing its end. The Star Wars Outlaws release date is August 30. However, it should be noted that those not wanting to wait for August 30 have the chance to play Star Wars Outlaws ahead of its August 30 release date.

Star Wars Outlaws early access will be available to anyone that pre-orders the Gold Edition or Ultimate Edition of the game. Those that pre-order one of the game's pricier editions or signs up for Ubisoft+ will get to play Star Wars Outlaws on August 27 instead of August 30.
