Highlights

  • Star Wars Outlaws may feature well-integrated and engaging cameos, similar to other Star Wars games and shows.
  • A potential cameo in Star Wars Outlaws could be Wedge Antilles, a surviving Rebel pilot from the original trilogy.
  • Boba Fett is the most likely cameo to appear in Star Wars Outlaws, but there is a possibility of including lesser-known bounty hunters or even Kyle Katarn.

The Star Wars franchise currently has a bit of a cameo problem. When bringing Star Wars back for the modern age, it was only natural that Disney would want to bridge the gap by merging the legacy cast with a new one, and that worked fairly well for at least most of the sequel trilogy. But then The Mandalorian came along.

The first season centered around original characters, with only a handful of references to the wider Star Wars universe, but the second season quickly goes off the rails into cameo canyon, with Ahsoka showing up, Thrawn being teased, and Luke Skywalker himself making a major appearance. Since then, every Disney+ Star Wars show has relied on at least one big cameo to bring fans in, and it seems like Star Wars Outlaws could share a similar fate.

Though Respawn's Star Wars Jedi series mainly revolves around original characters and story beats, there are still a handful of major cameos in the series, though they're usually in service to the game's original story. If Star Wars Outlaws is to share the same fate, then hopefully its own cameos will be just as well-integrated and engaging, making complete logical sense within the context of the game's narrative. And to be fair, there are a few characters that could fit the bill very well.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has a lot going for it, but there's one area that it really excels in, which bodes very well for Star Wars Outlaws.

Star Wars Outlaws Potential Cameo - Wedge Antilles

Set between Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Star Wars Outlaws is technically free to include just about any original trilogy character it wants. Though just because it could, doesn't mean it should. With the remaining Rebels presumably scattered to the wind following the destruction of Echo Base on Hoth, it wouldn't really make sense for a lowly smuggler like Kay Vess to meet up with Rebel heroes like Luke Skywalker or Leia Organa. Instead, it would make much more sense for someone like Wedge Antilles to appear in Star Wars Outlaws.

One of the few named Rebel pilots who manages to actually survive the entire original Star Wars trilogy, Wedge Antilles has become a fan-favorite character, and his potential cameo in Star Wars Outlaws would make a lot more sense than Luke or Leia. Players could find Wedge in the middle of a desperate attempt to scour the galaxy for more Rebel recruits, and maybe even choose to help in his fight.

Star Wars Outlaws Potential Cameo - Boba Fett (And Other Bounty Hunters)

By far the most obvious cameo for Star Wars Outlaws, and the one most likely to happen, is everyone's favorite bounty hunter, Boba Fett. A game revolving around Star Wars' criminal underworld, it would make complete sense for Boba to show up at least once in Star Wars Outlaws, especially when long-term employer Jabba the Hutt is confirmed to be in the game. However, the one thing that might keep this from happening is the fact that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor already beat Outlaws to the punch, including its own Boba Fett cameo at the end of its bounty hunting questline.

Instead, Star Wars Outlaws may want to include some cameos from some lesser-known bounty hunters. The Trandoshan bounty hunter Bossk is always a great pick for a secondary bounty hunter, as is IG-88. The bounty-hunting duo 4-LOM and Zuckuss are also great picks, along with Dengar, who's made frequent appearances throughout Star Wars media.

If Star Wars Outlaws wanted to go above and beyond, it could even bring Simon Pegg back to voice Dengar, a role he's played in both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and EA's Star Wars Battlefront .

Star Wars Outlaws Potential Cameo - Kyle Katarn

The most unlikely potential cameo on this list, it would be great to see Kyle Katarn make a triumphant return to the canon Star Wars timeline, and Star Wars Outlaws could be the perfect opportunity for that. It's been heavily rumored that Star Wars Outlaws' Jaylen could actually be Kyle Katarn, wearing an almost identical outfit and looking eerily similar to his Star Wars Jedi: Outcast counterpart, but that hasn't been confirmed one way or the other just yet.
