Scum and villainy of the criminal underworld have become a staple of Star Wars lore. This aspect of the Star Wars galaxy has produced a lot of interesting characters that deserve an appearence within Star Wars: Outlaws to further show players that this in this galaxy far, far away, there's plenty of outlaws, smugglers and other criminals seeking to do business under the nose of the Galactic Empire, and plenty that deserve to cameo in Star Wars: Outlaws.

Star Wars: Outlaws take place in the period between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, during which a lot of big names in the many Crime Syndicates were operating. It is unclear how many familiar faces, if any, players can expect to see in the game. However, several characters would make logical sense to include.

5 Boba Fett

Bounty hunters have always been a big part of Star Wars canon, with many appearing across various films, TV series, books, and video games. But the most iconic is undoubtedly Boba Fett, who, despite having roughly 4 lines of dialogue and six minutes of screen time, left such a large cultural impact in pop culture to inspire the Mandalorians. There is some evidence to suggest that Boba Fett might have an appearance in Star Wars: Outlaws.

The trailer shows Han Solo in Carbonite, apparently being transported on Tatooine. It was Boba Fett who first captured Han, and personally delivered him to Jabba the Hutt after he was frozen. He probably would have been present for the hand-off, and he is shown continuing to associate with Jabba in Return of the Jedi, so it makes logical sense that this would be a way for him to appear. What kind of role he has in Kay's story is another question.

4 Cad Bane

There are a lot of bounty hunters that would fit with Star Wars: Outlaws but one notable choice would be the infamous bounty hunter Cade Bane, an active and dangerous face around the time of the Clone Wars who had dealt with his fair share of bounties and Jedi. There isn't much known about Cad Bane's active years after the emergence of the Empire, so Star Wars: Outlaws would be a great way to see this character back in action.

Putting Cad Bane in Star Wars: Outlaws could offer some interesting opportunities. It might be interesting to see a quest where the player works with him for a change (whereas most appearances cast him as an antagonist), but a mission that involves competing against him to accomplish a particular goal could also be a lot of fun.

3 Fennec Shand

Star Wars Book of Boba Fett Fennec Shand Cropped

Fennec Shand is no stranger to the criminal underworld, and was already a skilled bounty hunter by the end of the Clone Wars. She went on to have a successful career as an assassin and it would not be inconceivable for Kay to run into her at some point. It would be more of a question of whether it is an ally or an enemy.

At the time of Star Wars: Outlaws, Fennec would probably still be working as an assassin, possibly still doing bounty hunting work, and she would have a pretty strong reputation. As an ally, Kay could have to work with Fennec on missions or accept contracts from her. As an enemy, Kay would have to deal with being hunted by one of the most ruthless bounty hunters in the galaxy.

2 Jabba the Hutt

Star Wars Jabba the Hutt in Return of the Jedi

There are few crime bosses in the franchise quite as iconic as Jabba the Hutt. The infamous slug gangster is a morally bankrupt individual who only cares about how he can profit at best. At worst, he's a total psychopath who enjoys murdering people in the cruelest ways possible for the slightest offenses and doesn't care if one of his minions becomes collateral damage. Star Wars: Outlaws is interested in exploring a morally dubious world that shapes its protagonist, and having Jabba would certainly add a layer of moral ambiguity.

With Han Solo appearing in carbonite in the Star Wars: Outlaws trailer, it would make sense for Jabba to appear, especially when audiences know that he eventually ends up in Jabba's Palace on Tatooine with the events of Return of the Jedi.

1 Qi'ra

Solo A Star Wars Story Qira

Solo: A Star Wars Story may have divided fans, but it did make a notable effort to explore the criminal underworld, starting with Qi'ra. This character was the ex-girlfriend of Han Solo, so perhaps she has some involvement with her ex-in-carbonite? She is also leading the Crimson Dawn after Maul's death.

Star Wars: Outlaws seem to have a mechanic where the player can gain or lose favor with different factions. Based on this information, Qi'ra's role could depend on Kay's actions and her relationship and loyalty to the Crimson Dawn Crime Syndicate. It would also be interesting to note if Q'ira still has a lightsaber.

Star Wars Outlaws is expected to release in 2024.
