Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of Star Wars’ most iconic characters. It’s no surprise that when the Jedi Master received his own Disney Plus show, Obi-Wan Kenobi, the show would be filled with easter eggs and references to other Star Wars media.
With every episode, fans pause and observe every frame, and listen to every word to try and find new and exciting easter eggs for their beloved franchise. “Part 5” of Obi-Wan Kenobi is no exception and has many great details for Star Wars fans to enjoy.

9 A Return To Pre-Clone Wars
Obi-Wan Kenobi “Part 5” opens up with a surprise. Fans are treated to another look at Coruscant, the planet that houses the Galactic Republic's Senate, and the Jedi Order's Council. Star Wars fans get a great look into the relationship between Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Kenobi trains Anakin in a duel and teaches him to restrain himself, and not always rely on his lightsaber.
It’s great to see Hayden Christensen suited up as Anakin Skywalker again. Wearing his apparel from Attack of the Clones, complete with his short hair and Padawan braid. Fans also get treated to Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan, sporting his iconic Jedi mullet from Attack of the Clones as well.
8 Padme’s Apartment

In the opening scene of “Part 5”, our first shot is of the cityscape of Coruscant. In the distance, we can see a few tall buildings, and one, in particular, holds viewers’ eyes. Anakin Skywalker, a role reprised by Hayden Christensen, stares at this building before turning to face his Jedi Master.
This building is the same structure fans of Star Wars have seen before in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith and is most notably the same building that houses Padmé Amidala. Anakin has been in love with Padmé since he met her in The Phantom Menace, and this detail is subtle, yet beautifully tragic for what happens to them both.
7 Vader Looking Into Hyperspace
When fans get their first look at Darth Vader in “Part 5” of Obi-Wan Kenobi, he is looking deeply into Hyperspace. This is something familiar to fans of Darth Vader, as he gazes into the warping blue hues of space travel, something that only Vader seems to do.
In Legends, staring into hyperspace could cause Hyper-rapture, which is a form of madness acquired from staring into hyperspace for too long a time. Imperial ships would opaque the transpartisteel slabs to prevent this. Yet, Darth Vader was noted for enjoying the swirling patterns of light, and never went mad himself. It’s a great detail that adds to Vader’s mental state after his duel with Obi-Wan on Mustafar, and the loss of his wife, Padmé.
6 Purge Troopers
Purge Troopers were first seen in the Respawn Entertainment video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. These powerful combatants were a stronger and better-trained version of Stormtroopers. They are noted for their distinct black armor, and red pauldrons.
Purge Troopers rank higher than Stormtroopers, which is why they can be seen on the front lines, as they are far more deadly than the ordinary troopers before them. These Imperial soldiers are commanded by Vader and the Inquisitors, and the first iteration of Purge Troopers were remaining clones after Order 66 but were soon phased out as the years went on.
5 The Thermal Detonator
When Princess Leia disguised herself as a bounty hunter in Return of the Jedi, she threatened Jabba the Hutt and his many guards with a thermal detonator. This powerful grenade is often outlawed throughout space due to its high power and demolition capabilities. Just because the thermal detonator is outlawed, it does not stop demolition professionals and bounty hunters from using them.
When Tala is fatally wounded by a shot to her stomach, she sacrifices herself and the droid NED-B for Obi-Wan and the other rebels. Tala uses a thermal detonator, notable by its sphere shape, and glowing red light, to explore the hallway she is in, killing herself and many of the Empire’s forces.
4 501st Clone Troopers
The 501st Clone Battalion were the elite clone troopers that served under the leadership of the Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, and his Padawan Ahsoka Tano. The battalion also served under Captain Rex, who later turned Commander. When Order 66 happened, the 501st had their inhibiter chips activated to make them turn on every Jedi except for Anakin.
The 501st became a deadly Imperial Legion, and acted as “Vader’s Fist.” With the Jedi Knight turned Sith Lord at their side, they stopped at nothing to hunt down the remaining Jedi at Courscant. They are seen in their iconic clone armor and blue paint, shooting Jedi in the Temple at Coruscant during a flashback.
3 Anakin Slaughtering Younglings Again
One of the most tragic and diabolical acts of Anakin Skywalker was when Order 66 had commenced, and he entered the Jedi Council to find Younglings hiding, awaiting a Jedi to save them. The last thing they expected was for the heroic Jedi Knight, Anakin Skywalker to ignite his lightsaber and strike them down.
In “Part 5” of Obi-Wan Kenobi, fans once again must suffer the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker’s fall to the dark side as he slaughters more Younglings. We witness Anakin cutting down and murdering Reva’s friends and Jedi family, whilst she must pretend to be dead amongst their cold bodies.
2 The Grand Inquisitor
Fans of Star Wars: Rebels and Star Wars canon breathed a sigh of relief as none other than the Grand Inquisitor stepped out from behind Darth Vader in one of the final scenes of “Part 5”. The reveal that he was alive was unexpected but proves that the events of Star Wars: Rebels still occur as they did.
The Grand Inquisitor is a Pau’an male, and they are known for having two stomachs. This is most likely how he survived since Reva must have only stabbed one, and The Grand Inquisitor was able to survive the attack, and reclaim his title from the fallen Inquisitor.
1 Luke Skywalker
As “Part 5” of Obi-Wan Kenobi draws to a close, fans are left with their jaws on the ground at the reveal that Reva has Obi-Wan’s old Jedi Holoprojector. A message from Alderaan’s Senator Bail Organa states how he is going to travel to Tatooine as Owen will need help with “the boy.”
Dramatic music swells as the episode takes us to Tatooine, to the Lars homestead. The camera lingers on a young boy, sleeping, blissfully unaware of the events that will transpire in the final episode. This young boy is none other than Luke Skywalker, the fated child who will bring balance to the Force, and return his father, Darth Vader, to the light side of the Force.
