Often considered one of the best Star Wars game of all time, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic holds a special place in the hearts of fans all over the world. While its sequel Knights of the Old Republic 2 - The Sith Lords was slightly less acclaimed, it also holds a place among the upper-echelon of Star Wars' video game adaptations.

After the original game was ported to mobile, it seems Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 - The Sith Lords will officially be following suit, as Aspyr Media announced a mobile port will be available on December 18. According to the studio, it will be the full experience but optimized for mobile play, and will be available on specific iOS and Android devices.

For those who never played Knights of the Old Republic 2, the game takes place 4,000 years before the beginning of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and focuses on an exiled Jedi Knight. The player gets to create their own custom character and venture across the Star Wars universe, reconnecting with the force while opting to either embrace the light or dark side. The game was developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the minds behind Fallout: New Vegas and The Outer Worlds, so players can expect a myriad of tough moral choices, fun RPG gameplay, and a deeper insight into the Star Wars universe.

Seeing as the game is a comprehensive RPG, it seems fitting for a portable mobile version, especially considering players can enjoy both of the iconic Star Wars games on their Android or iOS devices. The trailer for the new port seems to confirm that it won't be too heavily watered down either, with the game's battles running fairly well despite the platform change.

As for the Knights of the Old Republic franchise in general, it still remains as one of the most touted Star Wars video game adaptations ever. To this day, fans are still hungry for a remake or follow-up, with thousands signing a petition for a remake of the original game this September.

For now, it seems the series' return will remain a pipedream, with EA currently working on various updates for Star Wars Squadrons and a rumored sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order after the game was a rampant success. Some rumors have even suggested that a follow-up to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed could be in the works, although nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 - The Sith Lords is out now on PC, with Android and iOS ports slated to arrive on December 18.
