Highlights

  • Cal Kestis' final adventure in the Star Wars Jedi trilogy absolutely needs to involve a third major showdown with the infamous Oggdo Bogdo.
  • The return of Oggdo Bogdo is crucial to the trilogy's conclusion, as it has become a significant antagonist in the series.

After two very successful titles, Respawn is preparing to close off the Star Wars Jedi trilogy in glorious fashion. Even though nothing has been revealed about this next chapter, fans are extremely excited to see just how Cal Kestis' journey will come to an end. The focus of the adventure should be on his struggles within the galaxy far, far away, but it should also mark the return of one of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's greatest antagonists.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order introduced players to the terrifying Oggdo Bogdo, who would go on to become a meme due to its difficulty. Instead of having it be a one-off, Respawn ended up further expanding upon it in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which made for an even harder fight. Now that it has played around with the character twice, it would not feel right if it was left out of the third game, especially if that is Cal Kestis' final adventure.

Star Wars Jedi Has Had a Lot of Fun With Oggdo Bogdo

Players first encounter Oggdo Bogdo near the beginning of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Once they arrived on Bogano, they could run into this toad-like predator as they explored their surroundings. At first glance, it did not seem that terrifying. But players would soon discover an extremely difficult fight that tested even the strongest of them. Its leaps were devastating, its tongue attacks were brutal, and the lightsaber-resistant shell made it almost impossible to defeat it.

While players may have thought it would only play a role in the first game, Oggdo Bogdo would end up appearing again in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. This time, players can encounter the Spawn of Oggdo on the planet of Koboh. It was just as hard to take down as its predecessor, and if players succeeded, then they would be granted a nice poncho. Players could also fight this iteration in a Force tear in the shop of Doma Dendra, but this fight was infinitely more difficult as it would team up with the original Oggdo Bogdo.

Outside the games, Oggdo Bogdo was also mentioned in the Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars novel. Although it was only a brief mention, the novel canonized Oggdo's demise after being an optional boss in the original game. And since it has appeared in both Star Wars Jedi titles, it feels only right that it gets to appear in the third game.

The Next Game Could Take the Oggdo Confrontation to the Next Level

Star Wars Jedi's Oggdo Bogdo rematch should be the biggest one of them all. Since it is allegedly Cal Kestis' final game, Respawn needs to make sure the trilogy ends with a bang. Not only does the story need to be top-notch, but Oggdo Bogdo deserves one final shot at redemption. This could come in the form of the original, the spawn, or maybe the spawn of the spawn. Additionally, the game needs a fight between three iterations of Oggdo.

Some players may feel like three Oggdo appearances are overdoing it, however, it almost feels like a mandatory inclusion at this point. What started as a funny and tough optional boss encounter has turned into a core part of the trilogy's side content. With each entry, that boss fight seems to be getting harder. Therefore, this finale needs to be the funniest, hardest, and coolest version yet. If it cannot come back as a boss fight, it at least needs to be mentioned somehow. Otherwise, this third game may not feel complete.
