The announcement of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been a great source of hype within the gaming industry. Star Wars games are already some of the most-anticipated releases out there, but the success of this upcoming title's predecessor Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has only increased the buzz.

Despite fan attention already reaching a fever pitch, not much is currently known about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. While more basic aspects of the game are likely to be similar to Fallen Order, there are several burning questions that remain unanswered as of this writing.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - Who Is In the Tank?

Many of the questions that fans are asking come from the short reveal trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor that dropped in May. A massive part of this trailer focused on a mysterious person floating in a bacta tank, which is a form of cylindrical healing device commonly used within the Star Wars universe for serious injuries.

The trailer placed huge importance on the man in the tank, with series protagonist Cal Kestis seemingly seeking them out for help in his ongoing battle against the ruthless Galactic Empire. Many have theorized that the man could be Jedi Master Quinlan Vos, due to their similar appearance and Quinlan's force-sensitive abilities. Quinlan Vos was recently confirmed to have survived Order 66 in Disney's Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries, giving further credence to this potential identity.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - Where Is the Rest of Cal's Crew?

A massive unanswered aspect of the Survivor trailer concerned the whereabouts of the remaining cast of characters who appeared in Jedi: Fallen Order. While Cal and his trusty droid companion BD-8 were shown, the absence of Cere Junda and Greez Dritus was notable to many given the large roles they played in the original title.

Greez's ship "The Stinger Mantis" is shown in the trailer, though it is abandoned and perhaps broken beyond repair. Despite how important the original crew is to the overall story of the series, it appears that their whereabouts will be left up to speculation until Star Wars: Jedi Survivor releases - or at least a new trailer comes out.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - Who Are the Antagonists?

A massive element of Jedi: Survivor will be its primary antagonists. The Inquisitors, a group of force-sensitive Dark Side agents who serve the Sith and the Empire by hunting down Jedi, were the main antagonistic force of Fallen Order, and that will likely continue into the upcoming Survivor.

In the trailer, a hooded figure wielding a red lightsaber can be seen engaging in a duel with Cal, though their identity is currently a debated mystery. Beyond this seemingly combat-focused antagonist, another is present who appears to take a more shadowy, political role. Due to them both being from the Pau'an species, many thought this political antagonist was the sinister Grand Inquisitor from Star Wars Rebels, although this has since been debunked.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - How Has Cal Changed?

An element of Survivor that cannot be thoroughly conveyed in the reveal trailer, but is relevant nonetheless, is how Cal has changed since the events of Fallen Order. It is known that Survivor is set five years after Fallen Order, meaning returning players will likely be greeted by a Cal who is significantly different from his original portrayal.

It can be said that protagonists within all Star Wars media are typified by their development. After spending five years improving his connection with the force while actively avoiding the Empire as a high-value fugitive, Cal is likely to be more compassionate yet stand-offish, in typically Jedi fashion. Of course, there are a plethora of directions that Respawn Entertainment could take with Cal's character, and fans will have to wait to see just what direction the studio goes with.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - What Planets Will Be Explored?

Arguably the most important feature of a Star Wars game is the depth of interplanetary exploration available to players. While Jedi: Fallen Order had eight planets that could be explored by players, it is likely the upcoming Survivor will have even more planets that were not featured prior.

Lore-rich planets such as Dathomir and Ilum were featured in Fallen Order, and it only makes sense that this trend continues for Survivor. Despite the planet becoming a growing joke within the Star Wars community for how often it appears, Tatooine is one example of a story-important planet that could feature in Survivor.

Many fans have also been vocal in their desire for more populated planets to feature in Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, with the densely populated city-planet Coruscant being a location that could satiate the community desire for more dynamic and sprawling areas to explore. While all of these questions are being discussed by fans, it hopefully will not be long before some official answers are provided.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
