Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has confirmed a popular fan theory that has been rampant since the game's early reveal trailers. Every gamer has their own theories about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, however, this one was particularly prominent, and many players will be glad to see it confirmed.
The game is the sequel to the popular Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and the early signs are extremely promising. Previews of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor have confirmed that the game expands upon the original in many ways, by refining mechanics in a way that doesn't reinvent the wheel. For many, this will be great news. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order provided a great base to build upon, with its Souls-like mechanics providing a fresh take on the universe. The original sold extremely well for Respawn Entertainment, so it's no surprise to see the developer given another shot at the series.
EA's Andy McNamara has confirmed on Twitter that the popular Prequel trilogy planet Coruscant will be a destination for players to explore in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The original game allowed players to explore familiar planets from the Star Wars lore, including Dathomir, Ilum, and Kashyyyk, and it seems this trend of bringing back famous locations will continue with the sequel. In the tweet, McNamara also confirms that the game features their "biggest environments to date." While he doesn't directly confirm the scale of Coruscant in the game, it's a possible indication that the planet could have plenty for players to explore when the game releases.
Fans have speculated about Coruscant's return ever since it seemed to briefly appear in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's reveal trailer at December's Game Awards. The quick shot shows the new character Bode Akuna helping Cal up a ledge, against the backdrop of Coruscant's iconic nightlife. Star Wars has a history of planets looking extremely similar, with Tattooine and Jakku perfect examples, so until this confirmation nothing was official. However, when Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches later this month, it appears that players will finally be able to go to the Prequel trilogy planet.
After a polarizing few years for Star Wars toward the tail end of the 2010s, it's a great time to be a fan of the franchise once again. Three new Star Wars movies were recently announced at Star Wars Celebration, as well as multiple TV shows that will ensure the franchise remains at the forefront of pop culture. As the past has shown, Disney will never please everyone with its efforts, but there are still millions of fans out there still extremely excited about the future of Star Wars.
