EA and Respawn Entertainment issued an official statement regarding performance issues currently affecting Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for PC. The developers behind Star Wars Jedi: Survivor have been working hard on major bug fixes while PC gamers report several problems affecting today's launch.Following the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, protagonist Cal Kestis became a skilled Jedi Knight who's determined to protect the Jedi Order. In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Cal takes advantage of new Force abilities as he explores different planets and fights against the Empire. Additionally, Cal's new lightsaber fighting styles allow him to excel against different enemy types found throughout the game. Players may begin Cal's journey as a Jedi Knight today on consoles and PC, but several performance issues may hinder the excitement for those playing on PC.The official EA Star Wars Twitter account issued a statement addressing performance issues found in the PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. EA and Respawn are aware that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor players may experience several issues on high-end PCs and certain configurations. The companies note that these technical issues are prevalent with multithreaded chipsets designed for Windows 11 and high-end graphics cards paired with lower-end CPUs. The development team apologizes to PC gamers being affected by performance issues, and several performance fixes are currently in the works. However, these performance fixes require testing to ensure new problems are not introducing into the PC version, so update timing will be revealed as soon as the development team is ready.
Shortly before the launch of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, reviewers advised potential players to wait for post-launch patches since the PC version has serious performance issues. Currently, PC gamers may encounter significant frame rate dips, faulty HDR implementation, and subpar performance with high-end GPUs like the RTX 4090. The console versions may also face technical problems, but the issues appear to be more prevalent on the PC version.
