Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has enough exploration on Koboh alone to amass content for an entire action-adventure game, making exploration in each other available planet and location a treat for fans. Like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, there are many new areas players can return to in different locations once a certain ability or tool has been unlocked, such as unlocking Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s laser gates. However, one feature scattered around the galaxy is a much more intimidating yet gratifying challenge to optionally participate in.

It may be difficult to justify exploring the furthest nooks and crannies of planets such as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s Koboh and Jedha until all story-related abilities and tools are received, but that is because much will be inaccessible until then. The interactions and encounters players can take part in, though, are highly rewarding and will ensure that players have an easier time in story progression with more Force, health, skill points, or perks. One interaction that should be reserved for later, though, is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s Force Tears, which often present difficult challenges to complete.

The first Force Tear that players will likely encounter in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is also arguably its easiest; Fractured Resolve involves a unique form of platforming where jumping makes red laser gates swap sides. Otherwise, depending on how far players have progressed through the game and how many of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s skill tree abilities they have received, Force Tears can throw some Herculean feats at them.

Fractured Dexterity is truly a test of how dextrous players are after multiple enemies waves that conclude with a Mogu, for example, whose unblockable attacks make quick work of what’s left of the player’s health bar. Fractured Cunning is instantaneously tricky due to there being a handful of Rawkas that players need to avoid, and whose unblockable headbutting charges wipe the player out in a single hit on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s harder difficulties.

Fractured Duality is made much easier if players have a fully upgraded skill tree for the double-bladed lightsaber due to that being the only stance available, and because each wave features a bunch of heavy assault stormtroopers who wield miniguns. If these challenges do not sound difficult enough, Fractured History pits players against Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s Spawn of Oggdo and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s Oggdo Boggdo at the same time.

Meanwhile, Fractured Malice has players going against two of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s rancors, and Fractured Burden comprises a slew of enemies, including a Gorocco Matriarch, a Vile Bilemaw, and a Mire Terror. Players are free to take on these challenges whenever they like, granted they must be able to access the area they are in already, but Force Tears, therefore, make for great endgame challenges once other optional content has been completed and players have rolled credits on the story.

It should be advised that players first seek out any remaining stim canisters in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor that are left out in the galaxy, especially for some of Force Tears’ more intimidating fights. But learning the attack patterns of these enemies is also a tried-and-true strategy that can come in handy for many of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s bosses and creatures. Either way, Force Tears also reward players with a skill point each, and players can decide for themselves if that is worth the effort.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
