It came as a great surprise when Battle Droids returned to the Star Wars universe with the reveal in the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor trailer back in January.

Fans had previously thought that Battle Droids were all deactivated once the Empire took full control of the galaxy, but in this game, they were brought back into the limelight under the control of the new enemy the Bedlam Raiders. Battle Droid fans are spoiled for choice as they also recently appeared in an episode of The Mandalorian. Cal Kestis can battle several droids in the game, including some from the Empire.

8 B1 Battle Droid

Roger, roger! Battle Droids made a return as one of the more common enemies of the Bedlam Raiders. Much loved characters throughout the prequels, the Battle Droids are just as funny as ever in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

The B1 comes in two forms the regular kind with just a blaster and a melee form which wields a makeshift baton, which really is no match for a lightsaber. The droids in the game have a new coloring, a red and cream look which matches the scheme of the Bedlam Raiders and distinguishes them from a Separatists Battle Droid.

7 B2 Super Battle Droid

Super Battle Droid In Jedi Survivor

The bigger and better version of the standard Battle Droid, the Super Battle Droid is a tougher foe for Cal, requiring more hits to take down and has better firepower. Gamers will need to look out for their rockets, but using the force to send them right back is always satisfying.

Super Battle Droids are just as iconic as their lesser sibling, but without the comic relief factor, they actually pose a threat in the game, especially when there is more than one to deal with.

6 BX Commando Droid

Commando Droid's In Jedi Survivor

This droid made its debut in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and has been well-established in the universe as one of the main droids ever since. The Commando Droids are agile, sturdy and armed with a vibro-sword, used by the Separatists as an assassin or for more specialized missions.

In the game Cal can encounter three different versions of this droid, the standard armed with just a sword, a rifle variant and a hybrid with both a sword and blaster. Tougher to take down than the battle droids, and they can dodge saber hits, make sure to take caution.

5 Droideka

A Droideka, or Destroy Droid, made its bow in The Phantom Menace, and it has been a regular foe of the Jedi ever since, in Jedi: Survivor this is no exception.

What separates this droid from the others is that it rolls up into a ball and acts as a turret with a shield and twin repeating blasters. They can make quick work of the player if they are not careful, to tackle these droids gamers must get up close and personal to take down their shields with some lightsaber strikes.

4 Magnaguard

Magnaguard Jedi Survivor

Formally the personal guards of General Grievous and other higher-ups in the Separatist army, now they are used as foot soldiers for the Bedlam Raiders.

Armed with a powerful electrostaff, the Magnaguards can hold their own against the Jedi. Even beheaded, these guards still pose a threat going into a frenzy mode when the player may think they have won this battle. Equipped with a cape and piercing eyes they look like a fearsome opponent.

3 KX Security Droid

KX Security Droid

Not strictly a Battle Droid, the KX Security Droid is a droid that battles so that is good enough. The Empire's security personnel and they make good work of it, tall and menacing the KX are deadly at close combat with their brute force.

A returning enemy from Jedi: Fallen Order, this time they also have a stronger variant that is armed with a baton and improved armor, also with a slick tan color scheme. A problem in the game, especially earlier on without the improvements and perks.

2 Probe Droid

Imperial Probe Droid

Used by the empire as scouts to survey planets and look for any sign of Rebellion before they can send out their troops. The Probe Droid returns from the prequel to cause a problem for Cal.

Armed with a blaster, once they are defeated they will begin to self-destruct so make sure to send those right back at other Empire adversaries. Rarely seen in the game, but if gamers do they can be sliced by BD-1 and turned against their allies.

1 DT Sentry Droid

DT-Sentry Droid In Jedi Survivor

A rarely seen enemy in the Star Wars franchise, this droid made its debut back in Star Wars: Rebels as a heavy hitter for the Empire. Armed with an electrostaff and a blaster, these droids are somewhat of a mini-boss as they can withstand an insane amount of damage and certainly pose a threat to Cal and BD.

These enemies do look menacing, and they are a fantastic addition to the game, just like with the Magnaguards they only grow stronger when decapitated. Make sure to form a strategy before going into this one.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released on April 28, 2023, and is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
