A newly-discovered bug in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is causing players to permanently lose XP when defeated by a particular enemy. Players have already discovered a game-breaking bug in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and this latest issue is another that gamers will desperately want to avoid.

The news of yet another issue in the game won't be particularly well-received by the community. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's PC performance has caused quite a stir, with many completely unable to play the game in its current state. The content of the game itself has been widely praised, only adding to the general frustration among fans. It's still early days though, and if Respawn can get the game playable for the majority of players, this period will soon seem like a bad memory.

The enemy in question is the Mogu Troll, which can be encountered on the planet Koboh. According to Redditor slaymaker1907, dying to this enemy will cause all XP to disappear, unavailable to get back. Others in the thread reported experiencing a similar issue, however, most agreed that it was with this particular enemy that the glitch was occurring. There are other Mogu Trolls throughout the level that don't cause the same problem, so hopefully, it's not a massive issue for Respawn to fix. The combat in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor can be punishing by design, but it's unfair for players to be punished due to a technical glitch.

The reason it's so frustrating is that in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, players lose all of their XP progress toward the next level upon death. That XP is stored on the enemy that last killed the player and can be gained back by hitting them just once, as in the original game. If a player is extremely close to the next level, that can be a lot of XP lost and can cause issues further down the line as the difficulty ramps up, especially if the player is behind where they're expected to be.

Despite the variety of technical issues that gamers are experiencing at the moment, that hasn't stopped the title from being a success. Early numbers suggest that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is already more popular than Fallen Order on Steam, so the audience is clearly there if Respawn is able to fix many of the problems currently in the game. With EA and Respawn reiterating their commitment to fixing the new Star Wars title, hopefully, this XP glitch is an issue that gets sorted out quickly, as there are few things more frustrating than losing progress.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
