Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set to release in 2023 and fans can't wait to get their hands on Respawn Entertainment's sequel to the beloved Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The game will continue Cal Kestis' journey, and though a trailer has provided hints at what's going to happen, it's still unclear what the next step in his journey is going to be. Between fan theories and trailer breakdowns, the internet is full of speculation regarding this game.

The first won the hearts of fans thanks to its complete gameplay experience that was attached to an interesting and entertaining narrative that weaved the story of an original character into the canon lore the fandom obsesses over. With the game seemingly on the horizon, it's fun to think about which Star Wars characters might appear in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

8 Ninth Sister

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Characters Ninth Sister

A key rule in the world of Star Wars is that if a character isn't seen dead on screen and confirmed, there's a good chance they're still alive. The Ninth Sister served as a primary foe for Cal Kestis in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and though Cal defeats her on Kashyyyk, her demise isn't absolute.

Upon her defeat, she falls backward into a heavy brush of vegetation. It's not clear if she will once again be an active antagonist for Cal in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, but the idea of the Ninth Sister popping up as a primary cameo isn't too outlandish of an idea.

7 Inquisitor Reva

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Characters Reva

Reva Sevander was one of the primary Inquisitors in the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. Her hatred of Jedi stemmed directly from what she felt was inaction on the part of people like Obi-Wan Kenobi who were supposed to protect them. Because of when that show and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place it's entirely possible that she could appear in the game at any point in her journey.

Players could run into her by accident as she's on the hunt for Master Kenobi, but Cal could also come across the lost force user following the events of the show in which she seems to no longer be part of any faction. Either way, the character's story seems far from over, and she could play a role in Cal's understanding of the Jedi, the force, and what it means to be fueled by rage and anger.

6 Greez Dritus

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Characters Greez

Greez Dritus was the tough-to-love pilot of the Stinger Mantis who grew on both Cal and the audience throughout Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Despite being rough around the edges, at the end of the day Greez was loyal to his crew and would do anything to help them.

As Cal has aged it's fair to assume he could have become a capable pilot in five years, so though Greez may not serve as the primary pilot in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, it's hard to imagine a world in which Respawn Entertainment doesn't reward players with some more Greezy money, baby!

5 Obi-Wan Kenobi

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Characters Obi Wan Kenobi

The Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ show and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor are both confirmed to take place in or around 9BBY (9 years before the Battle of Yavin). Fans expected a surprise cameo of Cameron Monaghan as Cal Kestis in the show, but that never came to fruition.

Now it seems that the much more likely outcome might be Cal spotting Obi-Wan and witnessing the famous Jedi's escape from the Empire, or something close to that. Either way here's hoping that if Obi-Wan does make an appearance in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Respawn Entertainment can land the voice of Ewan McGregor.

4 Jaro Tapal

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Characters Jaro Tapal

Star Wars is a series that loves a good flashback. It helps establish previous relationships and can provide context to current emotional developments and feelings. Jaro Tapal was Cal Kestis' original Jedi Master but unfortunately died following Order 66. Sure, fans saw plenty of scenes with Tapal mentoring and training Cal in the first game, but with Cal maturing into an adult, the idea of more flashbacks seems fitting.

Jedi Masters are meant to teach their Padawan about life and their place in the universe, which are questions Cal will likely still be working through. Add in the idea of romantic relationships emerging and a scene of Tapal discussion attachment and such is a given at that point.

3 Cere Junda

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Characters Cere Junda

With both Cal and Cere aging five years between the two games, it's likely that the latter won't serve as strongly as a mentor as she did in the first game. Cal is growing into a man and capable Jedi. Cere on the other hand has a lot of trauma she still is working through.

She may spend time with Merrin and help her develop her abilities, but the idea of Cere still mentoring Cal as strongly as she did in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order isn't as likely.

2 Nightsister Merrin

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Characters Nightsister Merrin

Nightsister Merrin was a welcoming surprise in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and played a big role in the final act of the game. Toward the end of the game, she not only saved Cal from drowning but joined the crew aboard the Stinger Mantis. Fans are hoping that she becomes a playable character in the sequel, or at least plays a big role in the overall narrative.

Her species, Zabrak, has been one that Star Wars fans have clamored for in regards to more lore. Darth Maul is of the same species, and though his appearance in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is very unlikely, that doesn't mean that his species can't be explored through Merrin. Also, fans are wondering if her and Cal's awkward romantic advances could lead to something more in the sequel.

1 BD-1

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Characters BD1

Now, this one is a simple no-brainer as the tiny little droid known as BD-1 stole the hearts of fans everywhere. Droids in general play a big role throughout Star Wars and are often given so much personality despite their limitations when it comes to communication and emotional expression.

As Cal Kestis continues his journey there will likely come a point in which his relationship with BD-1 is tested in a major way. Whether that's a plot in which BD-1 becomes temporarily corrupted, or that the droid is kidnapped, Cal will likely have more emotionally resonant moments with BD-1 in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is releases in 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
