The latest Star Wars Jedi: Survivor gameplay trailer shows Cal Kestis exploring a brand-new planet of the Star Wars mythos, Koboh, where the Mantis has crash-landed following a failed mission. After a breathtaking "stepping out" moment, the player activates a new BD-1 ability, essentially turning the droid into a pair of binoculars. It seems as though players will be able to manually pin areas of interest, with the player pinning a Trontoshell creature, which adds a beacon to the map. Listening to fan feedback from the first game, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's map is a much more streamlined, 2D one.

Cal then makes his way through the gorge, spotting a gigantic Lucrehulk Separatist ship that's crash-landed in the distance. A familiar-looking screenwipe stretches across the screen and the camera cuts to Cal running across a wall. When he lands he activates two lightsabers, showcasing Jedi: Survivor's new dual-wield stance. Cal defeats some B-1 Battle Droids easily and seamlessly swaps to a single-bladed stance to deliver a new aerial slam move. After Force pushing an enemy away, Cal uses a new stab move to critically wound an electrostaff-wielding enemy.

Another screenwipe takes Cal to a different location again, this time to showcase some double-bladed combat. Cal leaps through the air and delivers an instant death blow to an enemy below them, again seemingly showing that verticality might play a more important role in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's combat. Cal then uses his double-bladed lightsaber, mixed seamlessly with the dual-wielding stance, to defeat a B-2 Super Battle Droid. The double-bladed stance looks completely redone, featuring a whole slew of new elegant animations, while the dual-wielded stance looks just as chaotic and impactful as fans were hoping for. It also seems as though Cal will be able to throw his lightsaber in all stances, with a unique charged variant being available for the dual-wield stance.

Some traversal gameplay is then briefly shown, with Cal using his new ascension cable tool to zip toward a climbable surface. From here, Cal uses vines to ascend a small cliff, with the climbing speed having seemingly been increased by quite a bit from the last game. Just before climbing the ledge, Cal uses a new ledge takedown to defeat another Battle Droid, and engages another electrostaff-wielder in combat, this time really showing off the double-bladed lightsabers more elegant and fluid animations as Cal masterfully jabs his opponent in the side and stabs them from behind.

After seeing some adorable Boglings hop up a wall, Cal tries his hand at it, bouncing off parallel walls to reach the top of a mining shaft. Cal is also shown to use a brand-new Force power that slows down time, which seems to be activated by pressing in both sticks at the same time. BD's enemy scans return in the sequel, though here BD makes a cute little noise and turns blue to signify that he can scan something.

Dismemberment features pretty heavily in this trailer, which is something fans were eager to see implemented in the original game. Cal slices straight through some chicken-like creatures, as well as another bird-like foe, practically decapitating them. However, fans still shouldn't expect any dismemberment when it comes to human foes. A brief tease of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's customization is then shown, with BD-1 unlocking a supply crate that unlocks a bomber jacket for Cal. Right before the trailer ends, Cal faces off against one more type of enemy, the agile BX-Commando Droid, which wields a vibrosword.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor releases April 28 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
