Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order released about a month ago to mostly positive reception. Though the game did launch with a hefty amount technical hiccups and other issues fans would like to see ironed out, the game’s overall reception was one of pleasant surprise.

One of the things that many members of the industry noticed throughout Jedi: Fallen Order’s runtime is its obvious inspirations from many modern games that are popular today. However, the director of Jedi: Fallen Order, Stig Asmussen, recently revealed that the game almost brought back an old fan favorite cheat code from many classic video game titles: Big Head Mode.

In a recent interview with IGN’s own Ryan McCaffrey, Asmussen spoke about his desire to bring Big Head Mode back into the modern games industry, and even went so far as asking Lucasfilm about including it in Jedi: Fallen Order. In the interview, Asmussen reminisces back to his early days in the industry as a level artist at Midway Games, the now defunct video game developers and publishers involved with titles like Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam, and Rampage.

Asmussen recounts specific codes put into the game Gauntlet: Dark Legacy saying, “If you put in PNK666, you got to play as a green mohawk, big head version of me with a chainsaw. Then there was... STG333 was... I had a steel baseball bat and it was more of a 'normal Stig,' kind of thing.” He goes on to recount how on an early date with his wife, he used the code to impress her, showcasing his clear fondness for the hidden little easter eggs of old.

While Jedi: Fallen Orderhas its own fair share of easter eggs, those mostly pertain to the larger Star Wars franchise as a whole. The game is packed with plenty of references and homages to the Star Wars film series, the other video games, and even the creator of the IP, George Lucas.

Unfortunately, it seems out of the question that a Big Head Mode would show up in future DLC for Jedi: Fallen Order, as Respawn seems to have no concrete plans to release DLC for the title. Which is a shame, because there could be plenty of potential to answer some lingering questions through DLC.

On a brighter note, it seems that Respawn and Electronic Arts may already be looking to make a sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order, as recent job listings by the publisher surfaced earlier this month. So maybe both fans and Asmussen himself can hope to see Big Head Mode return in the potential sequel.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
