The lightsaber is said to be a Jedi’s most prized weapon in the never-ending battle against the forces of darkness, but one Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order player used a more unorthodox method to take down a dreaded Inquisitor. With the highly-anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Survivor now just a little over a week from launch, fans are diving back into Cal Kestis’s previous adventure to refresh their Force skills and prepare themselves for the upcoming action-adventure blockbuster.

One of the many aspects that players praised Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for is the blistering Dark Souls-like combat that allows Cal Kestis to take down his foes with various Force abilities and lightsaber strikes. Some fans have challenged themselves to run through the entirety of Fallen Order without taking any damage. Some other players have attempted to beat Souls-style games like Fallen Order with their character at level one or without resorting to dodge rolls during combat, and one would-be Jedi recently invented their own method for defeating one of the game’s toughest bosses.

Reddit user Fraaanky_ posted a video of themselves playing through Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s special combat arena to r/Fallen Order, particularly an intense duel between Cal Kestis and the hulking Ninth Sister at the game's maximum Jedi Grandmaster difficulty. However, they would choose to keep Cal's lightsaber sheathed throughout the entire fight, instead freezing the Ninth Sister with Force Slow and striking at her from behind with Cal’s melee kick. Fraaanky_ speeds up the video of this long and grueling fight, but it can be estimated that it took about 10 minutes for the Ninth Sister to succumb to Cal’s brutal footwork.

Players battle Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order's Ninth Sister atop the sacred Origin Tree on Kashyyyk, where she proved to be a formidable foe even to those using Cal’s lightsaber. While she was presumed dead after this battle, eagle-eyed fans have spotted her in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot in last month’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor story trailer - implying that she has indeed survived and is seeking revenge on Cal during his latest attempt to flee from the forces of the Empire.

Players might get another chance to battle the Ninth Sister when Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches next week, and at least one player has managed to take her down ahead of time using only a few old-fashioned kicks. It isn’t clear if Fraaanky_’s surprising feat can be performed during the Ninth Sister’s actual boss fight in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, but their sparring session in the practice arena has likely left the Dowutin Inquisitor feeling sore ahead of their potential rematch.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
