Throughout Star Wars, various ships are used to carry travelers through the far reaches of outer space. Many of these ships have become famous due to their unique design, or for who is piloting them.

Since A New Hope, spaceships been promoted to audiences. They have been represented in various mediums and even products such as LEGO, where fans can own replicas of the ships. The different spaceships used in Star Wars hold great importance in the franchise, as they are the icons of space travel and often one of the first things that come to mind when thinking of specific characters like Han Solo. Of course, some ships made a bigger impression than others.

10 Boba Fett's Gunship

Boba Fett's ship was first seen in The Empire Strikes Back after Darth Vader recruited several bounty hunters to hunt for The Millennium Falcon and its crew. Upon escaping the Empire's fleet, The Millennium Falcon was spotted by Boba Fett and chased by the bounty hunter in his ship, which was initially called Slave I.

Though the ship's name has been changed to Firespray, Boba Fett's ship stays the same. The Firespray Gunship has received much love since its more modern appearance in The Mandalorian, in which the vessel famously left behind Seismic Charge Bombs and their recognizable noise.

The Millennium Falcon is arguably the most famous spaceship in the entire Star Wars franchise. The Millennium Falcon has been the face of Star Wars ships since the Original Trilogy. First owned by Lando Calrissian, Han Solo won the craft in a gambling game against Lando.

Han Solo then teamed up with Luke and Leia in aiding the Resistance and fighting against the Empire, all with The Millennium Falcon. Since The Millennium Falcon's reveal, the ship has been showcased in many other films, shows, and even video games like Star Wars Battlefront 2.

The X-Wing Starfighter is another of the most famous ships in the Star Wars franchise. Essentially, the X-Wing Starfighter is the primary type of ship that the Resistance uses to take on the Empire and other enemies in aerial battles. Recognized mainly by its distinct X shape, the X-Wing has been included in various Star Wars films and TV shows.

Luke Skywalker even famously took off in an X-Wing along with R2-D2 on a trip to the Dagobah system. Since then, the X-Wing has seen more and more screen time throughout the Star Wars timeline.

7 TIE Fighter

The Imperial TIE Fighter is the spaceship that the Empire mainly uses to battle or chase enemies throughout the skies or even in outer space. The TIE Fighter is shaped like a sphere with two wing-like parts on each side, resembling a bow tie.

This ship became popular due to the number of times the TIE Fighter has been included onscreen in the Star Wars franchise. In addition, some of the most famous Imperial figures, such as Darth Vader, have also used the ship. For example, Darth Vader used a unique TIE Fighter to chase Luke Skywalker down during A New Hope​​​.

6 The Razor Crest

The Razor Crest ship was first spotted in the first season of The Mandalorian, one of the first Star Wars TV shows to premiere on Disney+. Din Djarin, the main character in The Mandalorian, owns The Razor Crest. Like a modern airplane, the Razor Crest is a large ship with large engines on each side.

Din flew The Razor Crest through many hectic and action-packed moments until the ship was finally 'retired.' Though 'Mando' has gotten a new ship, The Razor Crest will forever be remembered.

5 Jedi Starfighter

Before and during the Clone Wars, the Jedi had their unique kind of ship that they used to get around and battle their enemies. These were called Jedi Starfighters.

Made famous by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, the Jedi Starfighters had space enough for a pilot and space for a droid like R2-D2 to help with repairs. The Jedi Starfighter was reasonably small compared to other Star Wars ships, but it packed an incredible punch in combat, mainly when grouped up with others.

The Empire had a ton of ships at its disposal while they attempted to take over the entire galaxy. One type of aerial transportation that they used is the Lambda-Class Shuttle. The Lamda-Class Shuttle is an Imperial ship held for the Empire's higher-ups.

Darth Vader, played by many actors, famously used a Lambda-Class Shuttle in the Original Trilogy. The Lambda-Class Shuttle can easily be pointed out by its three incredibly long wings; two on each side of the shuttle and one on the top.

3 Naboo N-1 Starfighter

Star Wars' Republic era Naboo may not have had the largest army, but Naboo's fleet had impeccable skill. This skill could be seen through their Naboo N-1 Starfighters, which Naboo pilots used to fight against their many enemies, one being the greedy Trade Federation.

The Naboo N-1 Starfighter was small, much like a Jedi Starfighter, but was quick and accurate. With a sleek yellow-and-silver design, the Naboo N-1 Starfighter was one of the best-looking gunships in the galaxy and even received more unexpected praise after Din came across one in The Mandalorian​​​​​.

2 Darth Vader's Executor

Star Destroyers are among the most feared ships in Star Wars, as the Empire invaded countless planets with them. True to their name, these ships have the firepower to take out an entire world. One of, if not the most famous, Star Destroyer is Darth Vader's Executor-Class Star Destroyer.

Referred to as Darth Vader's Executor, this ship was used to aid in the defensive position against the Resistance after they attacked the Empire on Endor. The Executor was entirely under Darth Vader's command, which he used to shoot many systems.

In the Prequel Trilogy, fans could look at some of the most famous ships in the ages before the Empire took over the galaxy. These ships seemed more delicate and decorative rather than practical. One great example of this is the Naboo Royal Starship.

The Naboo Royal Starship is a long ship with a sleek shape and impressive chrome coloring. The Naboo Royal Starship was used to fly Queen Padme and Obi-Wan to various locations, becoming one of the most famous ships in Star Wars.
