Old Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Mods Work in the Classic Collection

Mods in this collection have been at the center of some controversy. After the first trailers appeared for the game, it appeared as though the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection was using a fan-made mod without credit. Developer Aspyr dismissed this as a mistake in the trailer footage, although it appears that some unpatched versions of the game may still be using it at the moment. It’s possible it was used for testing and intended for removal before release, and may have unfortunately slipped the net as the game’s release date drew closer. Whether more will eventually come of this remains to be seen.

After Aspyr commented on the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection launch issues, gamers can only hope that the studio is able to bring the game up to the standard expected pre-release. It may prove to be just launch period hiccups, with the experience slowly improving as the servers aren’t constantly overloaded by players. Both of the original Star Wars: Battlefront games are some of the most nostalgic titles ever for many gamers, and they deserve a fitting modern re-release to match their incredible legacies.
