With the Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta underway (at least for those customers with early access), it was only a matter of time before some footage of the beta in action appeared online. However, it appears as though an unexpected leak has emerged instead, as footage of the Kamino multiplayer map - which is not in the beta itself - has now leaked.

A fairly extensive video of Kamino has appeared, and it certainly makes interesting viewing for those thinking about picking up Star Wars Battlefront 2 but who have not yet decided on the game. In particular, long-term fans of the Battlefront series may be happy to see some good similarities to the 2005 version of Kamino that appeared in the original Star Wars Battlefront 2.

Of course, since this is not the finished product, it's not an entirely perfect version of the game, and so there are areas that DICE will no doubt want to improve upon such as the odd awkward walk cycle. Perhaps the largest takeaway from the video in question is the return of Emperor Palpatine, with the Sith Lord turning up to wreak havoc on Kamino. At the moment, Palpatine certainly seems to have a lot of juice behind him, so let's see whether that also gets any tweaks before launch, or if his power is offset in other ways in the title.

The Kamino map in the original Star Wars Battlefront 2 was one of the fan favorites of the game, and it's great to see that DICE has seemingly managed to get a spot-on tone for the planet. Indeed, it's likely that this footage will give gamers some serious flashbacks to the original. Never fear, of course, as players can simply go and check out the restored multiplayer for Star Wars Battlefront 2 if they feel the need to get a nostalgia fix.

Although the full release of Star Wars Battlefront 2 is still over a month away, hopefully the game's beta will be able to answer some of the pressing questions about the state of the project, and what improvements have been made over the 2015 release.
