Star Wars Fan Explains Why Starting With The Prequels Is The Best Order To Watch

The Star Wars franchise can be enjoyed in countless ways, but fans are now advocating for one particular order and with good reason.

According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, better known as DanielRPK on Twitter, Black Panther star Angela Bassett has recently had discussions with Lucasfilm regarding a potential role in the Star Wars universe. While the specifics are kept confidential, this rumor generated a lot of buzz that resonated throughout the entire fan community. Bassett is known for playing several amazing roles over the years. The actress garnered attention for her performance as Tina Turner in What's Love Got to Do with It, which earned her a Golden Globe award. She continued to do extraordinary work and made her entry to the MCU with the 2018 film Black Panther. She portrayed the role of Ramonda in the film and received universal acclaim for her performance. In 2022, she reprised her role in the sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and received an Oscar nomination at the Academy Awards.

Bassett would be a great addition to the Star Wars universe. But how would Lucasfilm introduce her? As of now, Lucasfilm is working on several new Star Wars projects, including highly anticipated releases like The Mandalorian and Grogu and an unnamed film featuring Daisy Ridley as Rey, which reportedly centers on the character rebuilding the Jedi Order. Bassett is known for her versatility in film and television, and the filmmakers might want to use that versatility on both fronts.

However, some fans on social media have made it clear that they would want to see her in one of the upcoming Star Wars series, such as Ahsoka season 2. But it won’t come as a shock if Dave Filoni and the team decide to have her on board in the Mandalorian movie or Rey's upcoming film. Both films will reportedly start production this year, and although some casting might have been done already, it’s never too late to have Bassett in the cast.

Also, this is the perfect time for Lucasfilm to have Bassett in the Star Wars universe. As of now, there’s no update on Black Panther 3, and she would likely only return to the MCU for a brief cameo because her character died in Wakanda Forever, so it would be wise to have her in the Star Wars universe as early as possible. It’s yet to be seen if Lucasfilm will take the leap of faith and bring Bassett on board because there’s no doubt that fans will be excited to see her appearance in the billion-dollar Star Wars franchise.

The Star Wars saga is available on Disney Plus.
