3 new posters have dropped featuring several leads from the upcoming series Star Wars: Andor. With the show's premiere on Disney Plus creeping ever closer, hype levels have been steadily rising, and these snazzy portraits are sure to help things along.

After Disney's D23 Expo event (aside from big moments like Harrison Ford unveiling his final adventure as Indiana Jones), there were several leaks of content set to be revealed. These leaks included a set of promotional posters featuring characters from Andor, but since they weren't exactly official, the quality left something to be desired. Now, the actual Star Wars posters themselves have gotten a proper release, and they're quite striking.

Coming from Lucasfilm, the posters show off looks at several characters. This naturally includes Diego Luna's main character Cassian Andor, and he's joined by Genevieve O'Reilly as Senator Mon Mothma and Stellan Skarsgård as newcomer Luthen Rael. All 3 posters show the characters partially obscured by orange dust while backed by some buildings and a set of flying X-Wing starfighters, while they each include the tagline "the rebellion begins."

Andor will focus on the backstory of Luna's titular character as he's radicalized into the Rebel freedom fighter audiences got to know in 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. But rather than being a war story like Rogue One, Andor has been described as more of a spy thriller. Though, war is definitely still a big part of it, as Cassian's fight against the oppressive Galactic Empire plays a central role in his arc. But even though this is his story, he won't be alone.

Aside from Mon Mothma and Luthen Rael, Andor also stars Adria Arjona as Bix Caleen, Kyle Soller as the Imperial officer Syril, Fiona Shaw as Maarva, and Denise Gough as another officer Dedra Meero. According to Gough, her story will deal with gender politics within the Empire, offering a whole new perspective on the previously rather monolithic regime. In addition, Forest Whitaker will reprise his role as Rebel extremist Saw Gerrera from Rogue One.

The posters offer a fascinating look at what could be an overarching style seen in Andor. It's unclear how much of it will translate over and how much is more meant to be evocative of the show's feel than its look. But however things turn out, fans won't have much longer to wait before the highly-anticipated Andor finally makes its delayed premiere on Disney Plus. Here's hoping it ends up being the fresh take on Star Wars that the franchise needs.

Star Wars: Andor will premiere its first 3 episodes on September 21st, 2022, on Disney Plus.
