Ahsoka promises to avenge the death of her master, to which Vader responds “revenge is not the Jedi way.” Ahsoka triumphantly proclaims, “I am no Jedi”, before igniting her dual lightsabers.

It's an emotionally charged moment that sees the clash of lightsabers between master and apprentice, and the history of Anakin and Ahsoka pours onto the screen. Ahsoka’s decision to be neither Jedi nor Sith proves that she is more than what the Jedi Order used to be, and she can be the best of them.

On top of many successful movies, the Star Wars franchise has also seen a whole host of incredible games that have brought its universe to life.

Ahsoka is none too happy about the misdeeds of Anakin Skywalker, and her quote here reflects that. She believes that her legacy is filled with nothing but death and war, having lived through the Clone Wars and the Age of Rebellion as a literal child soldier, trained for combat, not peace. Yet, Anakin helps her to see that they are both more than that.

4 "They May Be Willing To Die, But I Am Not The One Who Is Going To Kill Them."

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Season 7, Episode 12 – Victory and Death

Ahsoka Tano. Captain Rex.

The story of the Clone Wars is soaked deep in tragedy. The death of Jedi, and the death of clones, in the Clone Wars were horrific in nature, highlighted in the epic Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. The show may have been canceled, but it was picked up at Disney Plus for a conclusion with Season 7, and fans got to see how Ahsoka Tano reacted to Order 66, and how she and Commander Rex fought alongside each other against his brothers, and her soldiers.

Whilst many Jedi battled and killed their clones after they turned on them due to the inhibitor chips, Ahsoka showed a compassion that many Jedi lacked after years of blindness to their Order. Ahsoka refused to kill the 501st troopers who would die trying to kill her, showcasing how in Ahsoka’s eyes, no one is beyond redemption; the compassion of a true Jedi.

Ahsoka picked up a lot from Anakin, including his witty banter, which was also probably helped by Obi-Wan Kenobi. When providing an ally with a drink, Ahsoka Tano holds a smug smirk and says “careful not to choke on your stupidity.” Other than being a hilarious line that shows Ahsoka’s wit, it’s also great for how it holds a place in future Star Wars canon.

9 Darkest Star Wars Storylines, Ranked

In the galaxy far, far away, there is plenty of room for the darkest Star Wars stories ever told, in both canon and Legends.

The line is brought up in a similar fashion in Star Wars: Rogue One, to which Darth Vader says to Director Krennic, “Be careful not to choke on your aspirations.” Like George Lucas always said about Star Wars, it’s like poetry, it rhymes. The fact that the master and apprentice share a similar snark is indeed poetic.

2 "The Politics Of War Are Not As Black And White As I Once Thought They Were."

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Season 3, Episode 10 – Heroes on Both Sides

James Arnold Taylor as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Ashley Eckstein as Ahsoka Tano.

One of the universal constant themes of Star Wars is good and evil. The bad guys use red lightsabers, and the good guys use blue lightsabers. Yet, as the years have gone by, Star Wars has evolved to be far more than that simple constant. In fact, Star Wars: The Clone Wars presented more politically charged themes, in that some wars and battles do not have a “good vs bad”, a “black and white”, but a spectrum of colors and reasons.

For Ahsoka, as she grows up, she learns that there is understanding in the Jedi, the Sith, the Separatists, and the Galactic Republic. Ahsoka learns an important lesson that sometimes, war isn’t as simple as one would think, and to be blind to that, is to be ignorant, which definitely led to the downfall of the Jedi as they took the role of soldiers and generals rather than peacekeepers.

1 "I Choose To Live."

Ahsoka: Season 1, Episode 5 – Part Five: Shadow Warrior

Ahsoka fights Anakin in a dream sequence in Ahsoka

It’s a powerful moment and shows how far Ahsoka and Anakin have come that they can share in this lesson. Ahsoka has chosen life, not to give up and surrender herself to grief and doubt that plague even the very best Jedi. Now on a path to life, Ahsoka is baptized anew, with hope at her side.
