Star Trek actor Simon Pegg wants a role in Disney+ show The Mandalorian, the actor reveals. Several major casting decisions for the popular Star Wars TV show have been confirmed, and earlier this month it was announced that Temeura Morrison would be playing Jango Fett.

Speaking to Collider, Pegg said that he would like to be cast as bounty hunter Dengar in the show if series creator Jon Favreau and The Mandalorian director Taika Waititi choose to feature the character. He also said that he has spoken about this "a few times," which suggests that this is something he really would like to do.

Pegg, who has played Scotty in three Star Trek movies and is rumored to be working on a fourth, may seem like an odd choice for a Star Wars TV show. The two series are often compared and fans have been known to fight about them. However, the actor also has a lengthy relationship with the Star Wars series. Pegg voiced the role of Dengar in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Battlefront and was in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens as Unkar Plutt.

The actor also spoke about the decision to hire Katee Sackhoff to play Bo Katan in The Mandalorian season two. Sackhoff has voiced that role and Pegg is suggesting that he should be a choice for Dengar if the character is added to the show.
